Arsenal continued their steady climb up the table moving upto fourth after another Van Persie goal was enough for them to beat Everton 1-0. Liverpool struggled to beat QPR 1-0 thanks to a Suarez header. Man Utd seemed to get their swagger back as Rooney and Nani both scored two goals each as they beat Wolves 4-1. But Newcastle's bubble seem to have burst as they lost 2-4 against Norwich. Of course, the backline that had served Newcastle so well was completely changed with neither Collochini nor Steven Taylor being fit for the match!! What are your views of the Saturday's results? Cheers! Ram

Robin Van Persie.. Robin Van Persie... There is only one Robin Van Persie... Yeah, He scores again. That's his 33rd league goal of this calendar year. 1 more goal he will equal Thierry Henry record of 34 (which is the Arsenal record) and another 3 he will equal Alan Shearer record of 36 goals (which is the current record holder in England). I just hope he can break the record. While most of the people talk about Robin Van Persie, we should also acknowledge the people who assist him as well. Robin Van Persie have been looking for chances all the game, but there are just nobody who can give him the right service. And it was Alex Song comes out with a perfect pass and Bang Robin Van Persie scores.. One thing good about Robin Van Persie, he always acknoledge the contribution of his team mate. 8 more goals, Robin Van Persie will become the top 10 all time Arsenal top scorer surpassing his fellow dutchman Dennis Bergkamp with 121 goals.

Given that the Christmas set of matches is going to come now, I think Van Persie has all the chances of beating the record. It was a wonderful pass from Song, but the finish was simply sublime. I think things bode well, as long as Gervinho re-discovers his efficiency in front of the goal. He is still very wasteful and so is Walcott. If these two become a bit more clinical, then the Gunners would look very threatening!! Cheers! Ram

Yes, if these start scoring, I think Wenger would have a lot less to worry. The backline is just beginning to look a bit stable with Vermalen back in the side. The midfield is beginning to assert again with Arteta now settling down well in his role. Cheers! Ram

Gervinho just need to find his self belief again. I though after the goal at Wigan, we will be more confident but I was wrong. Maybe the occasion took more of him. Looking all the legend of Arsenal, what they have done to the club and achieve, it most be going to his nerve. If he can find the golden touch again, I believe he will contribute at least 15 goals this season. As for Walcott, he just not having his shooting boot now. He do everything right to be in a good position and the only things that he fail to execute is the goal. It have been a while considering how many time he in the position to scores by himself. Remember the moment he skips past Everton defender and shoots, I thought it was a goal until Howard comes out with a great save to deny him. I expect Walcott to at least reach 20 goals this season. Just hope both Gervinho and Walcott will find their scoring touch again especially against ManCity next week.

Yes, Peter is right. The Newcastle success was built around the center back pairing of Steven Taylor and Collocini with Ryan Taylor pushing on from the wings. Now with both the center halves not available, the bench strength is exposed. I do not see any ready made options available to Alan Pardew, so he might have to do some smart buying in the January transfer window. Cheers! Ram

Newcastles defense has dealt a huge blow as steven taylor has been sidelined for the rest of the season. And colocinni was injured too i guess. So defensively they dont have any player to replace steven taylor with and so they are struggling. Tiote has been injured for some time now and also guthrie has been injured recently so that does not help. Their defense was the reason for their good form at the start of the season. And it will get worse are their inform striker demba ba will be going for the african cup of nations in jan. RVP is unstoppable right now and he will take arsenal to the champions league next season for sure as long as he does not get injured.

Arsenal got to thank Van Persie, who else, for the victory. The brilliant volley is worthy to win any match and a fitting contribution on the day Arsenal celebrated their 125 anniversary. Suarez is able to put behind his current woes to give Liverpool a victory. Kenny Daglish should look forward to getting a strike partner for him. Man Utd can start looking to consolidate themselves for a title charge now that they are out of the Champions League. No disrespect to Wolves but they are the perfect opponent to rebuild confidence. Newcastle fairy tale start has ended. Now is realisation time. Next up, Chelsea v Man City.

What was funny was that Arsenal had so many good chances before that goal. The finishing in all those chances was poor and then Van Persie comes up with most sublime of finishes. As the commentator was mentioning that the finish seemed from a completely different match than the one we were watching till then!! Actually today I liked what I saw of Maxi Rodriguez, though he does not seem one who can play the complete 90 minutes. He seems to vanish from the match after 50-60 minutes. Yes, Man U could not have asked for better opponents at this moment. I would like to give Newcastle a bit of slack here. They were without their regular defensive lineup and that has been their biggest asset this season. Without the solid backline, even with Demba Ba scoring twice, they lost the match!! Cheers! Ram

@ram_cv: It is a good result for Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United altogether. Getting 3 points can never be better, regardless of what team you beat. As long as you finish up high in the table, people will talk about your win (or your losses for that matter) all season long. As long as you stay at the bottom of table, people will only talk about your win only when you win. And I am telling you, that is football.

I think all these teams want to play attractive football. But when the results start going against them then what usually matters is to get the 3 points somehow. Even if that means winning dirty. Arsenal went through such a phase when they had a poor start. But once they started winning, they are back at their flowing kind of football now. Cheers! Ram

Hey Ram, Im very pleased about the result today, beating wolves easy 4-1.. Nani and Rooney played well both 2 each, they did get their spirits back after the devasting loss against Basil! However I don't think Liverpool should of won that match, it was quite tense, but I'd say QPR had more possession? Arsenal did great beating everton, they are coming back from the POOR start in the premier league. Newcastle played well, but i guess Norwich played better. Im just happy on MUFC result! 4-1 Go on Rooooooney and Naniiiii!

It was also good to see Rooney scoring after a long time. I think his form is going to be the key to Man U's season from here on. Liverpool's match with QPR was a tough one, but I would think the result was a fair one as Liverpool seemed to create the better chances. Had Suarez his shooting boots on, he could have had a hat-trick before he scored. Cheers! Ram

Suarez hasn't had much luck shooting but its good to have him back on the score sheet, also Rooney did well after his shocker against Basel, both should hit form hopefully.
