It is probably safer to fly in a plane. There are car accidents every day, but plane crashes are actually quite rare.

Statistically, it's safer to fly. However, when you're flying, you're essentially putting your life in someone else's hands. When you drive, you have a little more control over the situation.

Statistically, you are much more likely to get into an accident in a car than in a plane. However, some people survive car accidents, almost nobody survives a plane crash.
