Regret is indeed a very negative emotion. I never regret the things I did, I don't regret the things I didn't do, either. My way of seeing things is: when i took a certain decision, it was the one I thought it was best for me at the time. Things cannot change, we cannot improve the past. The important thing is to learn from our mistakes, and to avoid them in the future.

Well, life is sometimes up and down. There is a period where we feel satisfied and also there is a period where we feel regret. It happens to me too, due to reckless and not-carefully planned actions.
If you don't want to regret next time, then you should consider every possibility of outcomes as the impact from what you have done
