Do you find yourself during the day (for instance, when not on myLot, at work, etc.) daydreaming perhaps about a discussion you participated in, a discussion you plan to participate in, or a discussion you want to start? I experience this quite often, and my love of writing combined with my enjoyment of myLot overtakes my thoughts. For me, work is a great place to think about and mold new discussions and responses. It's not that I have an idle mind while working, but I can usually multitask, and thinking about my next activities on myLot helps pass the day quicker. What do you think?

I work with a mini notepad so when , not if, I get an idea for a post, I can write it later.

I hate phones and my cell phone is just a basic , non internet phone. I don't have access to a PC until I get home.

I have an iPhone, but I would never type a whole discussion or response on myLot with it - trust me, I've tried - LOL! However, I do like the constant Internet access to be able to read comments, discussions, and responses. I also use it to record my ideas for when I'm at a computer where I can type and post. It comes in handy. While I don't dislike phones, I absolutely hate talking on the phone, so mine is purely for communication via data...emails, text messaging, etc. I like staying up on everything, so my phone is perfect for what I need. I prefer myLot on a good old laptop or desktop, though. The tablet is tricky, like the iPhone, because it doesn't have a real keyboard to type on. The netbook (mini laptop) is just fine, and that's actually what I use the most when I'm home. I don't prefer the work computer as much because it seems like whenever I'm on break logged into myLot is when everyone decides to interrupt me. If I want good, solid (uninterrupted) myLot time, I do so at home in the evenings...like right now! I don't know what I'd do without it.

You are my kind of writer! I always have my phone with me no matter what. On top of that, pen and paper is handy, and I sometimes have my Xoom (tablet) with me. My preference is either my work computer or my mini laptop (at home) since they both have normal keyboards for accurate typing. Any of these gadgets work just fine for recording my thoughts and capturing my inspiration, though. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't get these thoughts down somewhere because I'd move onto something else during the day and completely lose my train of thought! That happens often as I move pretty quickly through the day. Today was no exception, which why I love myLot to take a breather now and then. You're so right - it's "when" not "if" the inspiration comes. MyLot is so addicting, but reading and writing here online is great!!

Yes sometimes I think about it but not a whole lot. I think about what kind of discussion I can start but always forget to write it down, BECAUSE i will always forget once I have thought of something. Anyway have a good day.

Forgetfulness and lack of inspiration - I think these are the two main obstacles when it comes to myLotting! Would you agree? I try to have a pen and paper or my phone (or tablet) handy at all times because who knows when inspiration will hit, and it's always best to be prepared. I find that I enjoy writing more and more. I wish I could spend all day on myLot doing just that! I'm glad you find inspiration, and I sure hope you'll be able to remember your great ideas to write them down or just to post them on myLot. Thank you for your response!

You're too funny. Yes, I guess if your mind is determined to forget, then you'll have a tricky time of trying to remember the pen and paper as well. It's a constant battle, isn't it? I hate forgetting!

Yes it happens to me. Sometimes when I am riding in a bus going home or going to mall. Then I saw of something happened- this will give me the idea of "making a topic in mylot" hehehe.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! I mean, I can literally hear gossip - a phone conversation, a live conversation, or even stuff on the radio - and I'm thinking the whole time, "What a great discussion that would be!" A lot of times I love posting here because I get to find out what others think about it.

I often experience this myself! And this is one of the reasons my phone becomes really handy. I don't necessarily remember great discussion topics when I finally get a chance to sit in front of the computer, so my 'great ideas' get parked on the notes-function of my phone. If I don't write it down, I would be thinking about it all day so that I wouldn't forget it.

A phone with the "notes" capability is the best myLot tool - I agree! A phone makes the most sense for this kind of tool, in my opinion, because most people carry their phones with them wherever they go! If I didn't have that function on my phone, I'd probably become slightly old fashioned in that I'd carry around a pen and notepad all day. It's not that I think all my ideas are valuable, but here on myLot you never know what ideas you post here will evolve into! MyLot turns ideas into real in-depth conversations and learning experiences. It's the neatest thing! I'm glad you and I are alike in how we plan our ideas. Keep up the great work and happy myLotting!

Hi JJ4Ever, Sometimes I do think about a certain discussion that I want to start. But it's not actually daydreaming. When I encounter something or heard strange thing, I think about making it as a discussion here. However, I end up forgetting it when I logon here

Hey there! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks about potential discussions during the day when I'm not logged on. I have a suggestion for you, though...you said you forget what you intended to write once you log in, but maybe you could make a list? It might sound silly, but I actually keep a "brainstorming" list of discussions I plan to start so I don't forget them. As I have ideas for the discussion, I'll list it underneath the name of the discussion. As the ideas form, I keep adding to that list until I have a chance to log into myLot and actually post the discussion. It makes it take a lot less time when I get on myLot because all I have to do sometimes is copy and paste. Sometimes I like to add in more detail, but for the most part that habit has worked well for me. Happy MyLotting!

Sadly when there's a discussion that has formed into my mind, I have no pen with me. Either I was outside or I am in the bathroom Strange thing was my phone's battery is always empty So I just didn't mind it now. I end up without any discussion for some days but when I suddenly thought of something when I am online, then I start making one.

It sounds like you have very interesting and random times of inspiration, but that's great. At least you have good timing now and then when you're online and can post whatever is on your mind. You then can put all your thoughts into that one discussion and go from there. I know what you mean about not having pen and paper handy. I try to always have my phone or something to write with me, but it doesn't always happen. However, a good writer always has his or her best companion by her side - her trusty pen and paper...when the paper is handy, and pen hasn't run out of ink - LOL! That's why I love keeping my phone and tablet with me when I can so I can just type the information into it. I'm sorry your phone doesn't keep it's charge. That has go to be frustrating! I'm glad you find inspiration sometimes here on myLot. Happy posting!

This is a nice discussion. Even if I am in the office I can't help myself thinking of mylot. I always check my email to check if somebody responded on my discussion or if someone commented on my responses. Also, checking other top discussions and my friend's discussions too. This site is really amazing. isn't it? Have a nice day!

Thank you! Some of my discussions go back to myLot itself because I like to find out how others create their posts. My mind is constantly going, thinking about whatever I can for a new discussion. Sometimes a coworker will give me a great idea without even knowing it (because only one of my coworkers knows about this site anyway!) Sometimes I hear good topics on the radio. The best thing about myLot is you can easily find out what other people are thinking. The participation here is great because you can always find something you're interested in. You're right - this is most certainly an amazing place! I just have to keep coming back for more!! Thank you so very much for your response, my friend. Happy Posting!

I know what you mean! I'd love to skip work and be on myLot all day. Too bad I couldn't do that for a living. It would be so much fun. However, most of the time while I'm at work during the day is when I think of great discussions, responses, and other ideas. I can mostly multitask, but sometimes I do that same as you and forget what I'm doing at work because I'm on break logged in to myLot. Then when my break is over, it takes me a bit to remember where I left off at work. MyLot takes you to a whole different place, which is why I have to be careful daydreaming about it and thinking of new topics while I'm at work! I try not to get sidetracked, but sometimes can't help but jot down the new information for my next discussion or response. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! Thanks for sharing!!

Many times I have thought about this website in such a manner. There are times where I just have thoughts about myLot. There are times where inspiration is going to hit at the weirdest times possible for sure. There are just going to be many times where thoughts do in fact pop right into the back of my head, as I really am dazed and trying to collect pretty much everything that I have. It does add some interest in the day. There are times where I have gotten some interesting discussion topics from the oddest of thoughts. As I sit there, plotting my next move, thoughts rather enter my head. There are just a lot of times where one thought bounces to another. It really is interesting to see the entire thought process from start to finish. Even I don't understand it half the time.

I absolutely love being inspired to post to myLot because it's rare I have a chance to spend very much time here. I do spend a lot of time on myLot, but not at once...it's really just here and there, which is why I always be sure to have pen and paper or my phone handy. Sometimes I'll also have my tablet nearby so I can type the information into there. Who knows when a new idea for a discussion will hit! It's just like you said - completely random, and no one can explain it. It's just there or it isn't. Every good writer is prepared, however. I try to have something I can record my thoughts on always handy. I feel at such a loss when an idea comes to mind, and I have nowhere to record it. With today's technology, there really is not excuse. I hope you find many more great discussions and inspiration for new ones to post yourself. I love you response because it describes exactly how I feel. You can't always explain it, but it's a beautiful process. I love writing, and myLot is such a great place. Thanks for sharing, my friend!

Hi there! You know, your excitement about myLot is contagious! I'm so glad you love it here. It really is addictive, isn't it? I might be a little crazy about it, but while I'm at work mostly is when I become inspired and have to keep a list of all the brainstorming and ideas I have for new and potential discussions! It could be about anything for me...a lot of times during the day something will come up, such as a discussion with a coworker, something on the news, something on the radio, etc. You know exactly what I mean because you clearly feel the same way! Discussions could come from anywhere, which is why we must always be ready. I'm sure that's how famous authors are too. They always have to have their pen and paper handy for when an idea hits. Can't be unprepared or you'll lose out! Of course, nowadays with all these handy electronic gadgets, as long as you have your phone, tablet, or computer handy, then you're good to go. I'm so glad you're a fellow myLotter and addict - LOL! Isn't it the best? I have so much fun here. I really hope you enjoy your time here and that you'll find your inspiration for new discussions and responses constantly. Keep up the good work - you're doing great!
