My friend will coming to my town by next two weeks along with his big family. He wants to spend three nights at any hotel in city centre so he can going around easily. I am trying to help him to book hotel rooms but unable to manage find any available room, all hotels are fully booked due to peak season, end of the year. I explain to my friend about this situation but he don't trust me, he said many room still available when he checking to hotel booking service on internet. The price is higher but room still available.
I am trying to check myself and find same things then I come back to two or three hotels but they again confirm no room is empty during those time..
I asked my friend to book and let see what happened since maybe internet hotel booking has special rooms but he doesn't want to speculate like that..
What do you think? Do you think he can trust the websites while the hotel says something else?

Well, my parents manage a bed and breakfast so I know some things.
Sometimes hotels have rooms reserved for online booking so your friend can find those on internet and other times they aren't updated and even if they are full they seems to be with rooms available.
What you can do for your friend it simple, let him phone or send e-mails for asking for rooms or to use online booking and take the room for the period he needs. I don't understand with you must waste all this time for him. If he can find rooms available he can tell you the name of the hotel and you go only to declarated free hotels.

I was trying to book a guest house room in Buenos Aires in Argentina. I couldn't find one that was a good price and wheelchair accessible. On another website I found other accommodation that I will hopefully book. The one I want is 7 nights but I only want 3 or 4 nights. So it is back to the drawing board for me.
Your accommodation problem sounds challenging. Your friend should book a hotel room on the Internet. It is very busy and popular at the end of the year where you live. I suggest your friend books a place to stay straight away. I hope he will enjoy his 3 nights.
