Almost half of facebook user start their day tending their farm or checking their crime families. It also serve a link to families, friends in every corner of the globe. Relationship rekindle and some blossoms while others wane. It creates new addiction to every generation but also it gives room for new menace to society as a whole. I myself a considered facebook addict wants to quit, now i wonder if i have the same urge to some people who are facebook fan.

Hello! Maybe if you feel like Facebook is taking over your life and you can't focus anymore then maybe it's time for you to quit. I was once FB addict before and i must admit that it affected my life somehow so i decided to lie low and focus to do more important things and it worked, i don't miss the FB games at all. Well once in awhile i visit my FB to post or to make invites for my online sites and check for the messages from friends and relatives. Maybe we just need a little discipline when it comes to FB to avoid addiction to it.

no disrespect but have you considered being without cellphone. i did that for two years, but the feeling of vanishment still lingers within. what i fear in facebook nowadays is the invasion of personal data since its IPO. Nevertheless i agree to the idea that if facebook is taking over someones life that someone should delete his/her account, or be disciplined when using facebook.

I deactivated my Facebook account about a few days ago. I have been only keeping it because my organization needs promotion and I happen to be in the position to make promotions for us. However, Facebook hogs my internet time (apart from 9gag of course). I keep on checking the homepage for updates although I'm not posting anything, haven't commented or liked anything, and not expecting anything at all. A few months ago, I deleted a huge amount of friends (I don't accept friend requests from people I don't know) and posts (statuses and photos alike). My friends sad they were sad I deactivated. Well, it's not my first time deactivating. I was not yet at the point of quitting since I might be needing the account someday like when a professor creates a group in Facebook and sets it as the official academic group (happened to me before). Might be handy. I still have Twitter though.

Then quit. Make sure you delete your account rather than just deactivate it. I had a facebook account for a while and then deleted it. I don't miss it. I found it encourages immaturity - 40 year olds who act like they are 14 - and discourages any kind of thinking (all those rumours and fake "alerts"). There are other social networking sites if you feel inclined to do that. I still blog but that's a far more personal and thoughtful thing. Or you could just stick to mylot!

I still have my facebook account, its my way of communicating to my family and friends, but it's not so much fun and exciting anymore. I like it here better. You can delete your account if you like, and you can always make a new one if you want to have an fb account again. :)
