Earlier this afternoon I went to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan branch of Unionbank. I went there to open up an EON Account for my paypal since paypal won't accept my BDO. I was with an OJT. He was trying to assist me to open the said account. However, he's new and don't know what to do. He asked for some help to her co-worker. She told me that they can't accept my IDs because it doesn't have a Palawan address. I explained to her that I'm new here since I only moved in last Nov. 13. It's says on their website that you need to submit at least 2 valid IDs. I gave her my Postal ID and BIR ID respectively. She was a bit rude. Then I asked for another alternative on how to get my application done. She told me that they also accept proof of billing. I called my landlady because I'll borrow the electricity bill. The girl from the bank told me that they won't accept it. Everything should be under my name and told me if that's the case then ask your landlady to apply not you! How professional that girl is. She really made my day. I just told her that I'll be back next week to give you all the things that you need. Now, she's gonna give me a lot of things to do since I will be updating all my IDs, will just change my current address. I didn't stoop down to that girl's level I talked to her in English and she answered me back with her own English that is so funny that even a grade school student from Manila can answer her. What an experience! Next time, that girl will get even... LOL

I am not sure if anyone can't apply a bank account or an EON if they are not from that place. I opened an account in Manila eventhough I'm from a province and nothing's wrong in that. My brother opened an EON in another town and he didn't encounter any problem.

Why don't you call the same bank and make an inquiry. Use other place or deatils instead of saying your real information. I normally call the banks first before I go so that I won't waste my time. =) Goodluck!

Hi, That is so true. I just don't understand the girl there. She was so rude to me and she kept on rolling her eyes.

hahaha... I smell blood! ('just kidding) I remember when I open an account in BPI and BDO, it's okay if the proof of billing isn't your name on it. I don't know if they change guidelines in opening new accounts now... that time I think was 6 years ago... Anyway, you're not the one who's been in that kind of situation. Just keep your cool and everything will be in your control! Talk to her manager and tell the manager that the girl don't have a proper customer care... or just ignore the thing! Hi there! I just don't know what is that girl trying to imply. I worked in a bank before and I was never rude to someone especially if that someone will open an account. She needs to have a training. I don't like here at all. The next time that she did that to me I'll make sure that she'll get even. Lol

Hello there! The tone of her voice and the way she looked at me is not part of her job though. I understand since I also worked in a bank before. I was part of the CS Training & Development team. She should show professionalism at all times. Keep on posting!

hey calm down, haha. don't think its even worth getting even. although it is really frustrating to be given that kind of customer treatment. my mom taught me a trick dealing with things like this, i talk to the manager instead. so if you go back with all your requirements and still get the same treatment, go ask for the manager, haha!
