I am reading and hearing about the terrible floods that are occurring in The Philippines. The news grows worse with each breaking news email from yahoo.
My heart goes out to the people of The Philippines but I also think about all the mylotters who live in that part of the world.
I wonder how you are all doing. What is going on in your area of The Philippines? My thoughts are with you.

It's been raining continuously for the past days because of the tropical storm in the Visayas and Mindanao area. Even if we are in Luzon, we have been experiencing this rainy weather which is so discouraging if you want to go out and look around for some Christmas gifts. Yesterday, I got caught in the heavy rain when I went out to claim a gift package. The traffic was awful that it took me more than an hour to reach the city which usually takes only about 10 or 15 minutes. When I went to the mall to pay the internet connection bill, there were really lots of people doing the Christmas shopping and the lines to the cashier were somewhat daunting. I am planning to do the gift buying on Christmas day itself which I wish would be filled with sunshine. I am also expecting a friend from UK to arrive in time for the holidays and I am just hoping for some sunshine so that he will enjoy the brief holiday that he has planned. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!

I am so sorry for the catastrophe that has beset your country. It has also come at a really terrible time of year literally pouring on your parade.
But I am glad to see that you are able to get out and about along with many others.
I wish you sunshine soon and hope that you too will have a Merry Christmas.

I think that I began to hear the bad news slowly but the crises seems to be getting worse and worse. I wonder about all of our mylotters who are in The Philippines and how they are doing.

Other than mylotters, I do not know anyone in The Philippines. As I began to hear the bad news about the area, I immediately thought of all the mylooters who are in The Philippines. I could not help but wonder how they are doing. I was expecting one of our Filipino mylotters to begin a discussion about the floods. I did not see an. I hope that they will join this one.

Before I became a member of mylot, I can honestly say that I didn't know anyone that was a Filipino. However, these days I find that a lot of my friends on here are from that part of the world and for that reason I have more concern for that part of the world than I might have during a different time.
With that said, my thoughts are with all of my mylot friends from the Phillipines and I hope that you are able to have a smooth recovery.

I have known a few Filipinos who live in The United States but I have never known any Filipinos who live in The Philippines until I joined mylot. I love that mylot is an international site.
It seems to me that either no Filipinos have been posting since the rains and floods or at least very few are posting.
I live in Central Texas and we have been having a lot of rain for the last several days. Today it rained all day, sometimes very heavily. It is not even close to the situation in The Philippines but I could not help but think of those people and their country. We are all getting very tired from the rain here. Imagine how those people feel.

i've been sick for a week and have not been paying any attention to news, since I've not had the media running most of the time. I hadn't heard about this. My prayers will go out for those who are affected, and most especially for my myLot friends.
