This is such a great problem with people who are not well or have injured their bodies. Risk management means you have to stop and evaluate each thing you do, especially if it's something new. I know that humans tend to forget their bodies are limited in what they can do with them, but those of us who are older, or injured
in some way really need to take the time to stuff their pride in their pockets and take a real look at what the body you have now can do. This doesn't mean you have to give it all up, it just means that you may have to do something a different way, ask for help, or when all else fails not do it. My daughter with her severly injured back keeps forgetting this and increases the injury. I'm going to make some big bright signs and post them around. For instance, the stairs are going to have a sign, hold the rail, before she steps out her door I want a sign, are you lifting to much weight? and so on and so forth.

Oh, as the body ages. Yes, things do get herder for us to do as we age. I still think I can do everything that I did when I was young. But I am slowly learning that is not the case. It does make me feel bad and some times less of a person. But I guess we have to embrace these things and as you said, be more careful how we do things.

I think we could all use a sign here and there sometimes. It is important to be careful with ourselves and there are a lot of times that we take on too much.
