to my understanding digestion takes several hours, and food can fully absorb by the body after 3hrs it was eaten. so, how come there is this notion that sitting after meal will result to such fat belly theory. is it true?

Sounds more like a traditional belief. But you sat to eat the food, how come you can't sit after eating it? Tell me, what other posture are they recommending after eating? Because, after eating, if you drive, work in an office, watch TV, etc you most likely going to sit.
