A few days ago, I saw a discussion that a mylotter made handsome money by selling his old books. I realized that I have many book lying in my home too. Where can I sell them? They are Indian author's academic books (Science and Maths). And they are a year or two old. Where can I sell them?

I sell most of my books on online auction websites, because you know that you're going to be able to get a fair amount of money for them because there are that many people who go online looking for the things that you have to sell. In addition to this, I like to do a car boot sale every year, in which I will take everything that I have bought and no longer need, in the past twelve months and sell it. You would be surprised with the amount of money that you can make out of things that you just think are total rubbish.

Oh, that's a nice idea, though a backyard sale sort of thing wouldn't be much appreciated here. I will be going to a book fair in about a month with a friend, I will see if there is any option of selling old books.

You could try Ebay. I've sold books on there from time to time. They don't always sell right away though, so I have to re-list them. It has the advantage that payment's easy as long as you have a Paypal account. A lot of people also sell through Amazon, but I haven't tried this yet, so I can't comment on the pros and cons.

You should try ebay, or any popular classifieds site in your area, with lots of members and traffic.
