Need help with my Transcend pendrive

I want to clean my pendrive through formatting it but when try to do it I am getting a message that "the disk is write protected" and no format happens please give some suggestions for this.

are you tried through the DOS or command prompt?

Try the DOS follow the instructions: START RUN(Type cmd and hit enter) now type in this window cd/ and hit enter. now type format X: and hit the enter(X is your pen drive letter) for example: your pen drive show in my computer call E drive then you type in the command prompt format E: and hit the enter.

I tried this too and I got the message at the end that "the type of file system is RAW.please use the /FS switch to specify the file system you wish to use on this volume."so what command is needed next for me the confusion still on.

here me too confused.... can you tell me which OS you used and in direct format tried to set FAT32 and format?

It mostly because of hardware problem.. or virus..as you have mentioned you have already scanned but for checking you need to run rogue files.. try to download low-level format tools from Transcend or HP site and try to format using them..

hmm.. if you don't have any data in that.. buying another one is better option.. :-) yeah.. I am big fan of F1.. that's why this avatar has kept..

May be ur right actually this one is my sons who is keeping me frustrated because his problem is not done till now and he is very umm what to say about one who just can't wait.I am going to tell him to take help from someone technical locally and if no result just through the drive and I will get him a new one.Thanks for sharing.By the way your avatar looks like a formula1 racer.
