My dog Granddaughter is being rocked to sleep by her mommy. This Basset hound is really something special in our family. All dogs are special, but my son in law was raised with Bassets and they are just very special to him.
Sean has never thought of himself as a parent to any dog.. he has always thought of himself as the master... well... now because Rosie is so special to us all, Sean is her daddy, Kim is her mommy and I'm her grandma.
She is very affectionate and loves to give kisses. Do you love getting dog kisses? I do. They are just so special. Please tell me about how you and your dogs show affection to each other.

Your granddogger is so precious!!! She's going to be one spoiled granddoggie! My dog follows me around still and he is over 7 yrs old. I can't even go to the bathroom without the company of dog and cat both. And I don't think it is just because I'm the food pantry. I think they really do show affection.....and they definitely pout.

Hi YoYo! I love hearing about precious animals and how they show affection. That's the way Rosie is with her mom... when her mom is out of her sight she starts looking for her, because she has imprinted on Kimberly as her mommy.
Her other Grandma is coming over this evening to see her. She gets so much attention... and I fell in love with her ears.. I just expect her to start flying around the room with her ears.

My husband and I enjoy the companionship of two dogs. Both are rescue animals, one from Humane Society the other a foundling from a softball field. At our age, they are our children and I swear they understand almost anything we say. The girl dog is the biggest and the boy is a mutt. She can handle cold and he doesn't. He sleeps under the covers on our bed, even if he has to wiggle under without help, at night snuggled up against my husband. When I awake, because I'm on oxygen when I sleep, both dogs wait until I take off the mask and then it is all out kisses and affection time. The biggest one, and oldest, guards the little one when they are outside and herds everyone. She is a cattle dog and it doesn't seem to matter to her whether it is humans or animals, that is her job. I definitely understand the status the new dog in your household holds in everyone's hearts, because our dogs are family!

Yes dogs are definitely family. I agree that they understand a lot. Our Rosie already knows 'baby' and she gets her Christmas Reindeer.. that's her baby. She has a chew bone that is for teething... We are going to get her a pacifier from Pet Smart... When my daughter gets it I want to have some pictures...I know she will be cute.

I love getting kisses from my Pudge when we had him. It just made me feel good inside. He was such a loving dog. Enjoy Rosie. Hugs

That is wonderful, I miss those days with Pudge, he was the only pet we ever had in the house. I enjoyed him so much and my health was so much better. I had other things to think of besides myself.
Hugs

It makes me feel good too to get kisses. When I come into the kitchen in the morning to make breakfast I have to say goodmorning to her. She wants to be noticed and petted and talked to. She talks back. She is very vocal. She makes lots of different sounds.

Annabelle gives kisses on the nose, but she also likes to give kisses to me on the ears. Which is special because Sherlock was the first dog I ever had who did that. I miss him so much. So I was pleased to discover Annabelle and Sherlock had that in common.

She doesn't drool or anything... there is no slime at all. She is my baby.. I love her so much. Sean says the females are much more affectionate than the males are. She is a big lap dog.
