I feel like reading a romantic novel this holiday. It has been long since I've read a romantic novel. Most of the time, I read self-help books and financial books. Can you suggest a good romantic novel with a very good writer?

Well, I'm two weeks late and the holidays are over, but I just have to recommend this romantic novel. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows. It is a wonderful little read that will make you happy you spent the time doing it. Enjoy!

Hi makingpots. You are not late at all. I have been reading a lot this holiday and since I enjoyed doing it, I've decided to read books every night instead of watching tv. Thanks for the good suggestion.

I'm not much into romance novels. There are few authors in that genre that pops into my mind since they are frequently in my mother's bookshelves: Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts. I think they are romance novels staples; mom's friends also has some of their titles. Good luck on your endeavors. Happy holidays! :)

Thanks for that. I may not buy a Danielle Steel book. But I'll check the works of Nora Roberts. I have seen Danielle Steel's work and I would like to try other writers.

Unfortunately, I prefer to reading a newspaper rather than a novel. But I had read a novel called "Warriors in The Rainbow" the story about struggle of rural children. And It's great to inspiring for young people.

I think, return again to reading romantic novel isn't a fresh idea, for this holidays especially, near new year. Such novels made me confined to a imaginary world. So my humble request is think of a better idea and selection.

hello snowhybiscuis :) I suggest Philippa Gregory's books. They are historical romances and her style is really good to read. Quite addicting. I also love children stories especially those of Roald Dahl's. I have not been reading for the quite sometime now and I terribly miss being immersed in a good book. My mind so preoccupied with so much things but hopefully before the year end, I could get through at least one book :)

Okay, I realize I'm probably WAY too late on responding to this discussion, but I will anyway. . I really like a 'chick lit' author named Sophie Kinsella - she has the "shopaholic" series which is pretty funny and romantic at the same time. Nicholas Sparks has some good (although sometimes SAD) romance books, so does Danielle Steele and Janet Evanovitch (sp). Another 'chick lit' author that's OKAY is going to be Jennifer Weiner, I really liked some of her books. Hope this helps! Happy reading!

Hi katipunero5. I regularly read the bible. I am just thinking of reading a novel book because I haven't done it for a very long time. Reading motivates me too for creating my own story line. Thanks for the well-meant suggestion.
