We're off.... Just 36 hours to go now before the big day and the P1kef1sh family are starting in great style. Firstly P1kelet rang us at 3.15AM from the hospital to ask us to collect her as she had broken her wrist! In 3 hours time I will be back there again to find out if I have to have my gall bladder removed. How's your festive break shaping up so far?

Oh, I am so sorry your holiday is starting like this! But thank God that P1kelet did not break her leg or need surgery! I hope you keep your gall bladder but I'm so glad we have the knowledge and technology that we do so you can live pretty normally without it!
My holiday is in suspense. My dad is very, very ill--he's 90 and everything is wearing out. My sister's doctor is testing her for a brain tumor and I won't know till tomorrow if that is what her symptoms mean. One of my sons is unemployed and has to move back home with his dad or live on the street. On the other hand, my ex is healthy and fairly happy, my health is good and my other son is doing well. My brother is healthy if not happy and the new furnace I had to buy a couple of weeks ago is working splendidly!
So my holiday is shaping up wonky but will probably turn out very well. Take care of yourself and have a very happy Christmas!

Oh, this is a great day, P1key! Got the news an hour ago that my sister is okay and the tests showed nothing. My stepmother called and Dad is walking around and has his appetite back! And now your gall bladder is healthy, this is turning out to be a wonderful day!
I've known people with growth on a kidney and none of them had to have anything removed and they are healthy. Let us know when so I can say a prayer for you!

You sound a bit like us. At least you will be warm. I hope that your sister gets good news or at least something that they can help with. My gall bladder is fine apparently. However, there is a growth on my left kidney which will probably require an operation in january. Fine by me if it takes the discomfort away! Happy Christmas. XX

No trips to the emerg (planned or unplanned) just yet, and I hope to keep it that way.

Ouch! I guess you can try and look at it like all this stuff will be behind you for the New Year. Thus far, no broken bones. But with an active, just turned 3 year old boy..well that isn't always a certainty, I hear. We are just very busy. Off and running since the 16th. That's when daughter's break from school started. Between Christmas shopping, numerous birthdays with those celebrations, play dates..since everyone is off for more than a week and a half, dinner tonight with my hubby's boss, well I just hope I can fit in a nap before New Years Eve! Fingers crossed you don't need surgery and can relax and have a pleasant holiday!

Hello pikey !
Let's see, first of all I haven't shaken the cold I caught last week but I am feeling better in this aspect.
Second I cleaned my room yesterday afternoon but the decorations here are not up (at my parents house) because they still have a lot to do.
I will be going to my girlfriend this evening and tomorrow before coming together with her here we will be baking a brownie and bring it with us.
And tomorrow afternoon we will set up the tree here (if my parents won't in the meantime) and place the gifts (that I completed buying just a couple of hours earlier).
I think that about covers the festive preparations for this year.

I am sorry to hear that things are not going very well for you right now. I hope that you will get better soon, even if it does mean removing your gall bladder.
We had our ER visit last weekend, so hopefully we have met our quota on those for this year and are good until next year at least.

I am glad to hear that your gall bladder is fine, but I am sorry that you will most probably need surgery on your kidney. I actually have some experience in this area, so if you want to talk, then you can PM me any time.
I can tell you that no matter what the growth turns out to be, if it is on your kidney there is a high probability that it has not spread to any other areas of your body.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that. Nothing going wrong here accept that my baby girl (23 years old) might have to get her tonsils removed. We'll know by this evening. I sure hope that the weekend will bring happier tidings to you and your family. Hang in there.

I can just see the menu this year. Wrist shanks and mousse-filled gall bladders.
Maybe for the next 36 hours you should all confine yourselves to recliners?
Sorry to hear that the Holiday is off to a bad start for you & yours. Hope that all of the bad stuff is overwith and that the rest of the Holiday is purrrrfect!
