How to avoid my hair loss. i have studied that if I comb my hair immediately after taking bath because this can result in loss of hair. Also my friend said that it's hereditary but my parents have good amount of hair on their head even at the age of 60. I have healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits as well. I don't know now what to do ? So please help me...

It's partly hereditary, I believe, but being healthy and - above all - reducing stress really help. Taking up a martial art, meditation or yoga would help in the long term.

I agree! All of the above as mentioned by SpikeTheLobster and most important, a proper balanced diet! Eating lots of junk foods will also lead to hair loss so you have to include all types of fruits, veggies etc. in your diet daily.

I've heard that's it's also hereditary. But there are other causes, like, The shampoo you are using, the chemicals on shampoo can cause this. or maybe rinse your hair thoroughly to remove all the excess shampoo. If not, stress, nutritional changes and hormonal changes can cause hairloss. I've read that it's normal to have hair loss 50 to 100 strands, but more than this is something you need to check.

Hair loss is partly hereditary. But there are several ways that you can prevent them from falling or prolong the time of falling.Don't comb your hair very forcefully not only after bathing but also all the time because, this may pull out the hair from your scalp along with the root if your hair root is weak.Make sure, your hair does not have any kind of dandruff or any other fungal infections.Do regular massages to your scalp which will increase your blood circulation to the hair root which will keep them from falling.Applying oil in the night and washing in the morning also helps.Another one thing is that don't allow your scalp to be heated so much which happens when you are using your brain so much like studying, using computer,at work or in hot sun.To cool it down, people apply oil in their head. But beware oil in the head attract dust and dandruff.

Usually hair loss can caused by illness, medication, infection, stress or poor nutrition. And when you can address the cause, your hair will usually grow back and you can avoid hair loss.

Which kind of shampoo are you using? and is it very hot and dry at your place? You diet is important too yes. If your a men most of them have hair lost anyway. Depend on which side of the family lost their hair? Buy a good organic shampoo with herbs in it.

I agree with the others, but would like to add that there is a hormone produced oil that will clog the hair ducts and cause the hair roots to shrivel, then fall out. I can't remember the name of the oil, but there are a few products that will reverse that. The one I use (off and on when it becomes a problem) is Nisim. You can find it through a search. It's worth a try.

Hi rdhanus, It's in one's genes. There's nothing one can do about this. If one is destined to be bald then bald must one be. However, you can probably delay this process by taking proper food, using good shampoo and keeping yourself fit and healthy. By the way, you mentioned that your parents do not have this problem. How about your grandparents? Sometimes one may inherit these genes from grandparents and not from parents?

I agree with spikethelobster. and of course, to solve your problem, don't comb your hair while it is still wet.
