Need help in recovering data from crashed external hard disk

Hi mylotters,
I need your help in recovering the data i saved for years in my external hard disk. Unfortunately, my external hard disk was crashed with file system corruption and now i am unable to access to my data.
Can any one here explain me how to retrieve that data into my system hard disk with any kind of command prompt tricks or computer technical tricks?
I already googled about it and found no results.
If anyone suggest any free data recovery softwares, please give me the url link of that particular site where can i get that.

Most of the time I use Recuva with 90% or more success.
You might want to use it more than once just in case to make sure all the recoverable files are salvaged.
Make sure you have an empty hard disk to store the recovered data into and then to sift for the info you want.
