I have been putting together many different kinds of earrings (including real butterfly wing earrings), animal teeth (wolf, bear, shark etc.) and claw (including bob cat, lynx, raccoon etc.). I also put together necklaces using many different materials including animal parts and minerals. On top of that I put together many things using deer legs (someone gave me about 200 dried deer legs to use) I have put different blades (including bone, plastic and metal) on them and used leather to make sheaths for them. I have also used them with feathers for personal fans. I have used Sharks Jaws for dream catchers and plan on using some turtle shells in dream catchers, not by putting holes in the tops but rather by using the bottoms of the top shell for the dream catcher. I am interested in what different kinds of Native American crafts that you put together and sell.
I may be able to get several animal hides to brain tan them. Have any of you brain tanned any hides and if so how what kinds did you have and how hard was it for each kind of animal?

I love the Native American (Indians) jewelery. It is the most beautiful of all I think. Turquoise and silver..the stones and the intricate detail of wire they do..it is beautiful and amazing. Tiger eye, black onyx, sandstone, Pirite, etc. EVen what they do with feathers and their drawings. I think it is the best. And that turquoise, pale orange and black colors they use are a beautiful combo. I don't make Dream Cathers are great too.. I intend to get two of those for my extra bedroom as it will be for my grand daughters when they come to visit and they both think Dream Catchers are amazing.
