there are so many that have sequels that are awful i realized i couldnt even pick one to say. i hate it when the sequel should just be a separate movie because it has NOTHING to do with the first/original movie! of course when they beat a dead horse with way too many sequels such as friday the 13th, halloween etc.
so what do you think was the worst sequel of a movie? when are many sequels TOO many? do we really wish they would make sequels of our favorite movies? i know i always would love a sequel to something but with my luck they would ruin it!

I hate it when the first movie was really good and the producers think that they'll keep on making to make more money but they just make such horrible sequels. They just make up more and more plots that are so boring and not even interesting anymore. Right now I can think of Shrek. The first movie was really good and I quite enjoyed it! When the second one came out I was excited too as there were new characters involved. Then the third one came and then the fourth and it just got really boring. The story lines just got more bland and pointless. Now they made Puss in Boots rather than Shrek 5
I did watch it and it was alright as it had nothing to do with the original characters but still, 4 sequels is a lot already. Another one is probably Alvin and the Chipmunks. When I first watched it, it was quite fun with the cute chipmunks and their high pitched singing but after the second and now third one came out. I'm just so fed up with it, it's becoming quite annoying now! Some producers just don't know when to stop. But animated films are popular with the kids so they'll still make money. @choybel (5042)

Here's one I could agree wit, the Alvin and the chipmunks sequel didn't really make me want to watch another sequel if there was ever going to be one. It wasn't really horrible, just not enough to at least even just pair up with the first one.

seems like the movies with the worst sequels are kids movies or horror movies

I just had another thought...it is like the remakes of old tv series. Lately they have been remaking the TV series from the 70's. They cannot compare! The 70's version was SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Hawaii 5-0, Charlie's Angels, and others....today, they just put to much non-humanly-possible stunts, violence and s*e*x in them today that the whole theme of the show is lost!

i wish they would stop with all the remakes already! im sick of them. if it werent for the fact my bros loved the area that all the remakes are coming from i wouldnt have any idea they were remakes but i dont think it would make them any better!

To name a few such as Harry Potter, The Lord of The Rings, X-man, Spider man and the like, but I like them all. They are all greatly appreciated. They are great movies.

I would have to say the SAW movies. I like the first one. The second one was good as well and I enjoyed it. But seriously they are on like SAW 6 or 7 I am not sure because I stopped keeping track. The same thing with Nightmare on Elm Street. The Harry Potter sequels were just upsetting as they didn't follow the books. The third X-men sequel while I liked it wasn't as good as the first two. I did like First Class and X-men origins: wolverine though.

nothing ever seems to follow the books when they make movies. saw was confusing since it seemed like they just started changing the villian and it was like wtf

Seldom is there a squeal that is as good as the first one.
Jaws and Jaws 2 are great...but 3 and 4 were horrible!
Rocky..1 and 2 were good, 3,4,and 5 were horrible!
Rambo...1 was good, 2,3,4 were terrible!
The Santa Clause...1 was good, 2 was okay. Santa looking for a wife? yeah right.
Gone with the Wind..fantastic/ Scarlett...horrible! A disgrace to the original!
Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween..tons of sequeals...none of them good!
Its like you can't improve on a great thing.

seems like horror movies are almost always a horrible idea to make a sequel. probably the only one that has done it well with out losing my interest was the saw movies and hostel has gotten better. i hated the 1st one but 2 and 3 were a lot better.
