In the Old Testament, there were priests, high priest, judges, prophets, seer, man of God, ... as titles for those in the service of God. In the New Testament, there were apostles, deacons, high priest, teachers, bishops, prophets, elders, pastors, evengelists,..... In this generation, we have pastors, evengelists, prophets(tesses), bishops, reverends, archbishops, pope, cardinal, general overseer, superitendent pastor, elders, deacons(nesses), Reverend fathers, ... and other combinations. People have taken almost all the titles singularly and in combinations, and have been found to coin out some more. Now, my friends in the ministry all have heavily loaded titles like Reverend Doctor, Apostle Doctor, The Right Reverend Doctor Prophet, The most Holy..., The venerable Pastor Doctor, etc. At a meeting, after they had all introduced themselves with these powerful titles, I was called upon to introduce myself. I have always been telling them that I am the Hight Priest from God and true to type, I introduced myself as the High Priest and all hell broke loose. Why should people not accept me as The High Priest when I have accepted them with all their titles? what is the problem with my title?

Hebrews chapter 4 explains that there were many high priests. Men were appointed that role. But now Yashua (Jesus) is the last high priest because he is one who continually lives to interceede for man. I understand what you are saying in that a title is a title. But to say that you are THE high priest, is saying that you are Yashua. If you are saying that then you need to remember that YAHVAH (GOD) knows those who are his. The high priest position is filled. We only need one, and Yashua has it. He has it because he was worthy to receive it.

You can play with titles all you want, but Jesus Christ is the only High Priest that matters today. No man can wear that title meaningfully. God does not care about all the titles that men like to wear, especially when they are just exercises in pride and vanity. God does care about positions, though, and He gives authority and responsibility to some.

8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; all the best urban

You have accepted your title and proclaimed it to the world. Now be happy and content with that. Others have all the entitlement to their opinions and beliefs. The strength with which you believe yourself as the high priest is equal to the conviction of their incredulity. So both parties are right, if you can be happy with your viewpoints
