CRAB MENTALITY Have you ever tried to observe crabs? Did you notice how they clIng to one another and pulled each other down or how they would try to climb over each other and in the process push down their fellow crabs and in the end they would either all fall down or fail to make any progress since each one is pulling back on the other? Did you ever observe a similar tendency in people where they would rather pull another person down or figuratively climb over him just to get to the top each one trying to best the other instead of being supportive so that in the end they could all reach their objective? Well back in my hometown we have a lot of crabs there. Everytime someone tries to progress in his life more often than not there are more who try to pull him down. I bet you have crabs in your hometown too or in your office or community and they are not the edible kind.

YES,people start to drag others down so they could work their way to the top. They destroy whatever good we have gathered through the way just for the price on top. All we have to do is open our eyes and see this some are friends, some are relatives or even neighbors or co-workers.

Oh so true. Is that human nature being what it is or is it a very small minority of people who demonstrate such mentality?

Crabs - Crab dish for those with crab mentality
People with crab mentality are very common every where. To be a person with a crab mentality is not good. I never want to associate with such kind of people. They always will feel bad when somebody else gets better things in life. They are selfish people who never want others to have better life than they do. Indeed I avoid those with crab mentality but I never avoid crabs. I love to eat them especially if cooked in butter or in coconut milk. I think those with crab mentality should just eat crabs and enjoy life that way rather than looking at others and envy those who are getting better and reaping more than they do.

I fully agree with you. best thing to do with such people is just disregard them and just focus on forging on ahead. I love crabs cooked as you say but I prefer them cooked in chili sauce or just plain steamed but dipped in vinegar and onions.

Yes, some people will pull you down when they see your on the path towards success. Sometimes it's sad to see people envy because of the things you've achieved. Just ignore them. Instead do something good to them for them to realize that they have wronged you.

It is indeed sad that there are people who are like that. Instead of striving to do better on their own and achieve success, they would rather spend their time indulging their envious nature and trying to pull you down. But they don't end up happy even if they succeed in pulling you down because they are still in the same miserable state that they were in before they acted like crabs.

I think there are a lot of crabs here, but I try to avoid them (like the Plague!). It seems that you can figure out who the crabs are and who the positive people are... and surround yourself with positive people. That's what I do & it works. :)

I thonk that's the only way to treat crabs...I mean those with only two legs but i love the edible kind of crab which are sometimes better to be with than with those crabby people.
