Credit card number stolen

Today, I was helping my grandfather review his credit card bill because he has trouble with English. He saw a charge he didn't recognize. $250!!! It stood out as he rarely charges above 20 dollars. Luckily, a whole hour on the phone with the credit card company resolved the issue. Someone was charging the card online. Now I'm rethinking the desire to have a credit card. Why would someone steal credit card numbers? He can barely afford rent as is.

It is just one of the too many hassles of keeping a credit card that made me decide against continuing my credit card that I once had. In fact the advantage of convenient payment option appears too small weighed against innumerable woes that it brings on. I first had a credit card that one bank gave in bulk to all employees and we were all very excited. Thereafter, I encountered a huge plethora of issues and I decide to wind up. I found it difficult to get out of the bind because it was a herculean task. I have never looked back in 6 years. I find online payment a much secure option. If your grandpa doesn't like doing online transactions, you may help him out with whatever he needs. There are adequate security layers to protect you in online transactions that are not possible with credit cards. It is so mean of people to live off cheated money, especially making the old persons victims. I loathe it.

I'm also rethinking having a credit card because of this incident and the fact that it could be stolen. I had thought that a card would be necessary part of adulthood but it doesn't feel like that now. I hope those people get caught so that they would stop stealing. Thanks for your respond.

I feel very sorry for your grandfather and think that he did well to resolve this issue with the credit card company. Months ago I left my letters to dry. The postman delivered them and rain had made my porch floor wet. I looked at my letters once they had dried out. Shockingly I had a bank statement and £117 was missing from my account. I looked at the name of the company that had taken the money. I felt very upset and shaken up. I went to speak to my bank. They suggested I had a credit card that I used for on-line spending. I never use my debit card on-line now. I got a credit card from my bank. I also got a zero percent interest for sixteen months credit card. Good luck to your grandfather and hope he would suffer anymore fraud.

Your grandfather must have been a victim of identity theft that is proliferating the internet. Please remind him not to provide any financial, or credit information unless he has checked the reliability of the site. This identity theft has become a big deterrent for consumers to shop online. Some would find credit card charges on their bills without buying anything from the online shops. Beware of the fraud and scams that litter the internet and always double check the websites that you are using for online shopping. Credit cards are very important in this economy but always be on the alert in order not to becomes a victim of those criminal minded people that just seems to increase as technology improves.
