I think .net programming will be easy for you if you have background in visual basic programming.It's quite the same actually.I haven't tried learning .net myself becoz I am very busy this days but if ever I have a spare time then maybe I'll try learning it.

If you are comfortable with some Visual programming (OOPS), .net may not be hard. But, if you are not comfortable with any OOPS (like VB, C# etc.) then it may be hard to learn at home.
Previously I got some script reference from http://w3schools.com/ . You too can check it.

It is easy. If you know the basic programming than you can easily learn the dot net. You can learn dot net by different programming like c# and vb. So its depend on you. I don't know more on-line learning sites. But this one is the good site to learn different programming things..
