Storage Wars?

My kids got me hooked on the TV show Storage Wars. Have you watched it? Is it real or staged? I cannot seem to make it out. Seems odd that only the show's characters win the auctions. What about the other people all around them? are they just paid extras? I would love to go to one to experience it for myself. Have you ever gone to one? What really happens? Thanks :)

I like and watch the show but sometimes I do wonder if it is staged. Like when a unit is ratty and bare but the lone dresser has 3 very expensive jars in it. Quite suspicious that they'd just happen to be left behind. I do believe they can't show everything so they probably just show the auctions won by their characters and not the other people at the auctions. I've never gone to one and didn't know they had them until watching this show. But it'd be fun to go to one. However, I don't think it'd be fun cleaning out some of those units and trying to sell the items. lol
