Arsenal won their match against QPR 1-0 with another goal from Van Persie. With this Van Persie scored one goal more than Henry in a year for Arsenal, but fell one goal short of Alan Shearer's EPL record for a year. With this win, Arsenal moved into the 4th spot on the EPL table ahead of Chelsea. Man United and Chelsea lost their matches while Tottenham could only have a draw making it even better New Year's eve for Arsenal. Cheers! Ram

I have watched this game from the 40th minute, because it was the last game of my betting ticket. I have bet that there will be at least two goals in this game. And Arsenal has made many chances, but failed to score from 120% clear chances(Walcott and Gervinho). Anyway, Arsenal has played a beautiful football and they seem to have fully recovered from the very negative start.

Yes, Arsenal seem to have recovered from their dreadful start. How bad it was can only be realized from the fact that even after such a fantastic run, they are languishing in the 4th spot in the table. As far as Walcott and Gervinho are concerned, both of them had a real poor match yesterday. Walcott had two one on ones with the goalkeeper and fumbled both. Gervinho had one really clear cut chance and could not even get his shot away which was really poor!! Cheers! Ram

@Rap, You need to be very careful about your hard earned money!! Rather spend it on your family and yourself than spending it on betting. Cheers! Ram

Walcott and Gervinho have played well till the moment they had to score. Gervinho hasn't hit the back of the net from 3 m, when van Persie has passed him the ball after an impressive action in the left wing. I was very mad at Gervinho, because it was harder to miss from that opportunity than to score. Walcott had a poor finishing and I have heard the commentator saying that van Persie has had 3 clear cut chances in the first half. I guess that December was a very tough month for me as far as betting is concerned, where I have lost a lot of money because strikers who usually are deadly haven't scored from wonderful opportunities. Soldado did this against Malaga(when I lost more than 100 dollars) and van Persie has had some poor finishing many times when I had some money on those games.

Manchester City will play their match in the New Year, but already the New Year's eve is very special for them as Man Utd has already lost their match. If they win tomorrow, they extend their lead by 3 points at the top. Cheers! Ram

With Man Utd and Chelsea slumping to shocking home defeat and Tottenham drawing with Swansea, this is definitely a great result for the Gunners. As for RVP, he is unlucky not to break the record. He had chances in both games against Wolves and QPR but could not take it. He seems pretty anxious to get it in those games and missed a few chances. But still, no one can deny what a good year he had. I am looking forward to his partnership with Henry, if the frenchman deal is to become a reality.

Actually in the first 30 minutes yesterday, Van Persie could have had a hat trick. He missed on all three occasions and his chance went abegging. Anyhow one goal ahead of Henry and one goal behind of Shearer is not a bad company to be in. Cheers! Ram Happy New Year 2012.

Arsenal won their match against QPR 1- Well, congrats for Arsenal...they win a really crucial match against QPR. They started the game slowly and looks like the game will be ended goal less before RVP finally score with his trademark shot.. Well, I have seen many improvement from all clubs in EPL. We can see the big clubs are not always win easily this time around. Not sure what motivate them but the league becomes more interesting with balance power between all clubs. I feel there will be tremendous change in big six until end of season, really tight league this season.

Yes, you are right my friend. The title chase is much closer this season because the bigger teams have fallen a level and the smaller teams have raised a level. So it makes it more interesting viewing this year. May this continue. Cheers! Ram

Saw this discussion late and yes Arsenal were the biggest winners as Man Utd, City and Chelsea crasged to shcok defeats and Totenham drew on New Year's eve.. Only Liverpool , who are Asenal's competitors for fourth palce, had a good result and Arsenal fans were really pleased with the proceedings. But the most frustrating part with Arsenal is that now they have lost the game against Fulham last night while Chelsea won.. This again brings them back to square one if Tottenham, Man city and United win. This is one thing that is preventing their climb up te table and I hope they dont get into the liverpool habit of not finishing off the lesser teams.. Arseanl have been in good form recently and this defeat was a real shock.. As for the game itelf Arseanl piad for their wastefulnees in front of goal in the first half and Fulham made them pay. And when they were down to 10 men it was just a matter time before the inevitable happened. I just hope they bounce back from this defeat asap..

Yes, I saw the match and was really frustrated. After going 1-0 up they could have been 3 or 4 nil up at half time. Instead they were wasteful. Then the sending off meant Fulham went for the jugular and the old Arsenal returned to succumb to it and lose the match with two goals in the last 6 minutes!! Cheers! Ram
