I am not talking about demonstration against government's policies type of picketing, but I was talking about picketing against those businesses that really hurting our pockets, and they won't even consider do anything to fix their own problem. I read one article about this lady who has her car repaired from this auto shop, they didn't completely fix her car, but make it even worse. On top of it, they were even denying their wrongdoing. Out of nowhere for help, she has picketing across the street from that shop, and uphold post that let passing by bystanders to know how this shop treat their customers. Eventually, this auto shop gave in, and wrote her check for full compensation. That is a really inspirational story for me, because you have fight for your own rights.
I had a similar story posted a month ago, but my method is get their upper level management attention to the matter. I would call up their corporate office and file a complaint about it. Do you have other methods against those businesses?

It might help only slightly, but I doubt that anyone will really get much of anything from picketing in the end. In the end, there are just going to be a lot of people who in this day and age, put any kind of complaints to "crazy people complaining about every little thing that they don't like." Granted, its not to say it can work, but there are times where society in general is so jaded that they don't bat an eyelash.
I think that the best way to hurt them is through the pocketbook by spreading the word through other means. Picketing may draw slight attention to a business, but many will ride the storm. And often times, there will be times where the police will get involved and thus you will be the person that will be branded to be the villain, for all reasons, right or wrong.

Social networking sites definitely will help in delivering our message to others with regard to businesses not doing the right thing. I had this experience with a pizza chain wherein we were not given our change simply because they don't have the coins. The staffs within the store did not exert enough effort so that we can have our change. Pissed off and already have an appointment then to attend to, my wife and I just decided to leave. The next morning, I sent an email to their corporate office and told them of what happened. Calls and emails of apologies were made. The store manager even requested that we visit the office so that they can meet us and personally apologize. In my mind, what is the use of it? I'll never take our change even if they offer it back.

Picketing is a way of showing yuour support for a cause. if you do nothing your rights will stay as they are. i velieve that showing what you stand for does help in the fight for your rights. Sometimes it falls apart but you have to give it at least a valiant effort.
