This morning I went to temple in my city with hubby Professor on the occasion of New Year; there was a very long queue at the entrance gate to temple premises, of course there were separate lines for ladies and gents, as usual.
But at the entry point to the room where idle of the Goddess, these lines merged to one, the rush was too much, the priest kept telling, ‘Ladies first’ always.
While returning, I was sitting on the pillion seat of his scooter; hubby told me a nice story on this “Ladies First” issue.
He said he heard this from some lady Professor, who used to teach Philosophy but retired now. It goes like this.
Long time ago, a man and a woman were madly in love, wanted to marry but the parents didn’t approve it, they belonged to different religions.
They decided to suicide together, and planned to jump from a mountain near their home. The man could not bear to see his beloved fall, so he convinced her that he will jump first, and he jumped. But the girl never jumped, since then all men decided to say, “Ladies first”.
It made me laugh loudly on the first day of the year, we are happy. I believe we will pass this year happily.
What you say?
Any such story to share?

WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012.

I thought it was kinda a Romeo and Juliet story. It made me laugh here alone, I was actually waiting for a sad ending that the lady will also jump

Happy New Year! I am sorry,I haven't been able to wish it sooner. What a fun the story is !However It is not fair to lets people think of woman as one that isn't loyal to love.I mean in the story the girl never jumped.I am amazed by that there is seperate lines for ladies and gents there.

I think I might share yours with some of the people I know though.
