Brilliant idea. I forgot about this. Thank you for reminding me of this option for my accommodation. Now, I joined the site and searching for a kind host for my next travel. hahaha... I have been planning a trip to Labuan, Malaysia and I have a hard time reserving my hotel rooms there because almost all hotels there have no website or email address. Hopefully, I can find one to accommodate me and will tell you bout my experience.

Yup... I went there last 2010. The next time I visit China, it will be in the south. Which would be nice, Guangzhou, Xiamen or Shanghai?

well,in the southwest,Yunnan province,Dali,Lijiang and Shangelila are wonderful places to travel;Guangxi province,Guilin would be the very great one;Guangzhou is one of the famous cities in china,it's worth visiting but it's not very big,two days enough, you can visit cities nearby,or go on a high-speed train to Wuhan(the biggest city in mid-china,i live here~),it only takes 3 hours or four~ then move to east,in Anhui province, there's most beautiful mountain in china called Huangshan, worth climbing~ then, hangzhou, suzhou ,nanjing ,last shanghai·~~ i've been to these cities i just mentioned~ if you want more details, message me ~

I saw a documentary about a lady that tried going throw rubbish bags to find food to eat. Then she hitched up to Norfolk where she did some couch surfing for one night. The couple were friendly and gave her a meal as well as a place to spend the night for free. She was a single person and for one it is easy to find a couch to surf on. I travel with my four year old disabled son and my two year old daughter. So with three people we wouldn't fit on a couch. We need a room with three single beds, one double bed plus a single bed or two double beds. I am visiting Argentina and staying in an apartment for one week or half a week is cheaper than staying in a guest house. A person could travel around the world using couch surfing. Some countries would have loads of couches to choose from. If the route was London to Bangkok overland to Bali to Sydney to Auckland to Santiago overland to Lima to San Jose to London couches would be needed in many different countries. These would be Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica. I imagine there wouldn't be any couches to surf in some of these off the beaten track countries. For backpacking across North America couch surfing would be 100% effective. I think it is safe. I know one night would not be enough and I like two days to a week depending on the destination. The lounge might be small so the person wouldn't be able to bring too much luggage.

Yes, I been a member to this website for over 2 years, and I haven't done any travel so far, nor I didn't stay at some stranger's couch before. I heard some people wrote review about this website, and they are told me it was pretty cool, and they met some really cool people from it. So, if you trust your instinct, go for it. If not, you rather stay in a hotel than some stranger's house.
