What do you really do to be a Smart Thinker?

To be smart thinker I think our brain must function appropriately. Some play puzzle and IQ games, some do meditation to set their brain in optimum order. A new trend I have seen nowadays is "BrainWave Entrainment". They claim that it is a scientifically proven way to make you smart or even genius without doing meditation or playing games. And its true that in this fast pace world we must be smart enough to respond with changes around us. So what do you really do to be a Smart Thinker?

I don't do anything to increase my IQ or maintain a clear mind. I think I'm good at Math, Physics and Computers, and can solve pretty much anything related to those that is in the range of my knowledge. I like learning alot, so I read books alot. I know there are always going to be people smarter than me even in stuff I'm best at, that's one of the reasons I don't try to improve my IQ. I think, however, learning and solving problems can improve your mental abilities.

I'm not that impressed by the members of various high IQ societies I've met over the years, yes some members are undoubtedly geniuses in their chosen field of endeavour but just because you got a very high score on an IQ test does not mean that you are a well rounded, socially skilled, capable, knowledgeable, adept and competent human being. Most mensa members are not rich, so it takes other qualities as well as IQ to become successful, many high IQ types are logic monkey clunkheads who cannot function very well in the real world.I think intelligence is in part hereditary and part environmental, so exercising your brain with puzzles could be one way to improve it; having to get creative just to survive, get something to eat and pay the bills day to day is another great factor in improving creativity and intelligence, necessity is indeed, the mother of invention.....

I think that mentally challenging yourself and putting yourself into situations where you might normally be is essentially the best way to think. There are going to be times where we are going to place ourselves right inside a certain box in life, where we are living right in our comfort zone and therefore we get relaxed, but our brain is really going to be too relaxed. There are times where a lot of reading, different books, doing puzzles, and even certain computer games will rather be done to really increase your brain power to say the very. There are a lot of times where people tend to get a bit lazy and live with a pat hand, unable to really properly think and they find themselves in a rather unfortunate situation in life.

I always try and learn about new things. Being curious by nature I always want to know how things work. So, I tend to learn about a lot of things just out of curiosity. Recently I've tried to watch only more educational things when watching TV as well as reading non fiction books and think outside the proverbial box. I think the biggest thing that most people should do but often don't is take care of their bodies. Good diet, exercise, and adequate sleep are often forgotten in today's society but are key to being alert. People are just not as mentally agile when they are tired or hungry.

I used to make sudoku or other puzzles. But after a while I was bored and I was going to play puzzle games with really hard puzzles on the internet. I tested my brain with it and now I see really simple solutions for things in real life. Sometimes I medidate in the shower. It sounds weird but when you focus on the water falling on you, you just relax. I say try it! :)
