For one of my daughters gifts she wanted some of my handmade cards.....so I gave her a pretty box with 15 cards inside....then after we opened gifts I told her that she could go through my cards and take what she wanted.....she took 55! I also donated a set in a pretty box to a benefit they are having so I have NO cards left!!!! I also want to start scrapping all my photos from 2011....so I have to get busy and get a few things done! Are you behind or do you have any new things planned to start out the new year?

How kind to donate cards. I am so far behing I'll never get caught up. Starting the year off slow but need to get my fingers in gear. Do you sort your photos for scrapbooking by year or by family? Our weather has been so good that it's difficult for me to stay home and work inside.

Thanks for the information. I am so far behind just sorting photos that I might as well just let them sit in the scrapbook. Would take me forever to try to make a nice scrapbook. I use to write dates on the back of photos but don't think I did with many of them.

By year...and I put one year in each scrapbook....the title page always has the year included on it.

I'm not behind - yet! I have a few ideas for Christmas next year, but even more for things I want to make for the house and for myself. The list keeps getting longer, but I'm not behind yet.

Well I started making a Scarf out of some Yarn I picked up from Hobby Lobby in IL over a yr. ago that I was going to keep for me in case the weather started turning cold or started snowing, and actually have not worked on it now in almost 2 weeks, and it is actually colder and snowing here today. So I guess this means if I get time, or would take the time I need to work on it to get it done. (I usually try to sell mine, but wanted to keep this one for myself as I Love the colors), so I can definately relate.

My daughter did scarves and hats for all of us for Christmas...they seem to be so much warmer then the ones you buy! Good luck finishing it!

I have been away from my sewing, quilting and crafting for many years and am thinking of getting back into it again. I think I will start out slow and see how my hands hold up. Enjoy your crafting and scrapbooking.

I feel like I spend my life perpetually behind. You see, I actually started scrapbooking in January of 2007 when my son was four months old and my daughter was four years old, so though I do try to keep up with the recent pictures that I take of the children, I'm still trying to get their infancies done as far as scrapbooking goes. However, I'm working on it because of the fact that it is something that is important to me. I also need to work on some afghans for babies because I love to give those as gifts when friends or family members have a new little one in their family.

I drew some cards awhile ago, miscellaneous kind. Today I drew a puppy, and colored it brown. I followed a pattern and just looked at it and redrew it took me 2 hours, but it worth it, I love to draw from every kind of nature pictures to faces and scenery.

Yesterday my little granddaughter was here and at Christmas I had the two youngest make mini teddy bears. So I know she can sew....now I am thinking of getting some cotton towels and have her start doing cross stitch....her mama can use some new towels......I hope you find some cool things to cross stitch! Ornaments sound wonderful!

Wow, you really had that many cards on hand?? That is really great. What a nice gift that is for your daughter. I love to make handmade cards but I have never just made them to have on hand like that, perhaps I should. I make as I need them unless I attend a workshop to learn a new technique. Because of those workshops I probably have about 10 or so on hand at the moment, but I tend to want to keep them on hand to remind me what I have learned. Sadly, I think I have started the new year deciding to craft less. I'm starting to feel like my home is being taken over by crafting supplies. If only I had a crafting room!!

I don't really have any plans that I can get started on just yet because they all require money that I do not have until tax time. So...if I have not started on anything by March then I guess I will be behind. I am not surprised that your daughter took all your cards. From the ones I have seen on here they are just lovely.

I believe you're happy to start the New Year off this way, and couldn't think of a better way to start it out. Nothing special for me this year. I accomplished a lot last year and am proud of myself for it. I'm just going to continue on the path I'm on and hope that we do not have any major obstacles this year. My new year is starting off on a calm foot. We've had no plans the past couple days. In fact yesterday was sort of a wasted day. I drank way too much Saturday night so did not feel well yesterday. All we did was watch a couple movies with the kids. Today we may have some friends over to hang out, but aside from that no other plans. Tomorrow we all get back to work and school.

I only have goals. By April 15 I want to scan all my tax papers for the last ten years and put them on a memory stick. Then I want to go through my family genealogy and historic pictures and put them in a heritage book. Major though they be, it will get it out of my office. Right now all it reminds my of is a fire trap!

I am two years behind in my scrapbooking. I did go through and post it note captions on pictures, and have my online photos all captioned, but I want to make photo albums for my mother and mother in law in time for mothers day. I may get it done over my spring break.

Well, I'm still making jewelry, but I've spent some time the last few days making bead charms to practice my wire-bending techniques.
