HI BUBBLEWS ADMINS I remember a time during elementary my science teacher is absent, this during the times where there are no equations in science subject (science use to be my fave subject until I met Chemistry and Physics.....grrrr,,, I hate those 2) My science teacher is absent and so my teacher in Filipino tried to take her place. we were discussing the food chain the diets of animals, The herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. He basically said a Zebra is an Omnivore so I debated him on how he is wrong. he reported me to the principal and said I was "disrespectful" after a few months I get my revenge though , 1 day, he left his drink in the class table. No one else is in the classroom.... I squeezed the sponge used to clean the blackboard on his drink. I think he had diarrhea for days, no one knows I am the culprit, hey dont judge my action then, I was only 11 then, I also remember a certain history teacher on my 6th grade, she said that Phillipine presidents are in the office for 3 years....which is not true,,, a presidential term in my country is 6 years, i tried to correct her too but she screamed at me and told me to shut up. -- this is the discussion were you can share the childhood incidents were you know your teacher's lesson is wrong and badly researched.

Yes, at the college I was attending until last year, two different teachers of mine asked students who had a twin who was the opposite gender of themselves... "Are you identical twins?" The first time, the whole class virtually exploded, trying to tell the teacher that if twins are of opposite genders, it is Impossible for them to be identical... because by definition, identical twins Have to be of the same gender. If not, they are fraternal twins. The other teacher, however, was a professor. And no one said anything contrary to what he was asking. And in that class, I'm not sure that anyone knew this. People, this is elementary biology! I'm terrible at science, but even I knew this!!! :)

I and my classmate sometime find out the teacher is wrong. We will react according to the teacher's personal. They those like to chat and discuss, we can mention what we think and have a meaningful debate on it. For those who think they are the king, we better keep our mouth shut. In any case, we will not let teacher to drink those ... ... that is really not good!

there are teachers who apologize if they taught something incorrect but yes there are the ones with thick pride and they dont want their ego to be hurt. they dont think students have a right to correct their mistakes. well the teacher is still alive though, I cant believed I admitted something bad i did in my childhood. But you cant blame me when I did that, during those times I am an innocent little boy.....

Looks like you were a naughty boy back then. I can't remember any instances when I corrected a teacher and the teacher did not accept it. When I was in college, when we correct teachers, they are much more than willing to listen to you and accept their mistake. Back in elementary and high school, I don't think there was ever an instance that I had the courage to correct a teacher. ^^

This brought back a few lovely memories of mine! I still go to school but a few years back in high school, I had a few teachers who have no idea what they are talking about. I love science too and I do Physics and Chemistry too. I like them but I don't like the teacher. My Chemistry teacher is actually a university lecturer and I thunk because he is such a bad lecturer he dropped down to a school teacher. When he teaches chemistry, he has no idea how to spell, he makes a lot of spelling mistakes on the board and he sometimes say the wrong facts. Some of my classmates do chemistry tutoring and they don't bother listening to him because he's always saying something weird or different. Some of my classmates have to correct him! Another time, I did geography a few years back and I had this teacher who was the worse teacher in the whole school. She told everyone that Greenland was full of grass, trees and lots of animals. She was totally wrong, Greenland was totally opposite of that! It's funny when teachers are wrong, no point in correcting them, just laugh.

I also have a classmate who have a debate with a teacher cos her Native Americans, my teachers said they were caucasians, My classmates said they were from Asia. That girl and that woman argued in the class because of that. But I have debate shares with teachers too. I was more aggressive during elementary, at high school I am happy go lucky. Teachers are supposed to be able to spell even if they were not English teachers. Thats like a slap on their college diploma thats why teachers needs to keep reviewing. correct me if I am wrong but Greenland is a snow desert right? and Its people are eskimos and caucasian.

I too have come across such situations where the teacher is wrong... Some teachers like to be corrected and some get infuriated when you tell them that they are wrong as in your case. I feel that teaching is a two way process which need to work from both ends... the students learn from the teacher and the teacher learns from the students. There should be active participation in the class and it should be in a fun and friendly environment... I have to say... you were a naughty when you were young...lol

sometimes teachers do need to elarn from their students too, its not a 1 sided love affair. They cannot underestimate the kids they teach cos sometimes kids do advance studying even before the lessons were taught in class. You cannot just underestimate kids. Teachers should accept mistakes cos if they dont they will be keep teaching wrong ideas to their students.

Hiya Captain Okay, one incident - There was a teacher who was contractual and teaching Geography. "Earth is Round and Revolves Around the Sun". According to him, it was Galileo's find and his last words were - "Still the Earth Revolves". He taught us this and the next day was the end of his contract. The new Teacher who joined as a Permanent Teacher re-taught the lesson and did not mention anything about Galileo. A couple of students - including me - who asked him about Galileo were told that it was Copernicus and Galileo had nothing to present as mentioned. At that time, we did not have an Internet or much access to prove who was right or wrong. It went on and finally I did find a mention (about 3 years later) in our schools' newly built library - that Copernicus was first no doubt but it was Galileo who expanded on this theory of his. But other things still remain a mystery

I guess this generation of children can prove the mistakes of their teachers much faster with the modern technology we have now. before we have to go around the library just to have an evidence against them. My memory had been refreshed again by another teacher from the past. she basically said Mother Teresa is Indian....Well Ialso thought she was, I only found out she is not Indian 6 years later.

Hi CaptAlbertWhisker, Squeezed blackboard cleaning sponge into his drink, huh? Very creative indeed. He didn't notice as he probably thought it was calcium in his milk drink! Anyway, now that you are older do you have any regrets or misgivings about your action then? People make mistakes all the time and some will not admit it for whatever reasons. As a child, you thought that it was the right thing to correct the teacher in front of the whole class - but have you ever thought of how he would have felt? I think sometimes it's the way one questions the teacher, maybe need to use some tact but you were probably too young to understand that. Have a nice day.

regrets... he didnt die and the last time I heard of him which is last year,he is still a terror teacher, No regrets. whatever mistakes that I did in my childhood stays in my childhood. I am an adult now and I am telling you, my child self is a different person from my teen and adult self. he must be still believing that zebras eat meat. I can say I was a very smart as a kid but I am rebellious and happy go lucky as a teen and I am over organized as an adult. a person can change in few years.
