I wasn't aware of it, though I followed the Greenpeace boat 'Rainbow Warrior" when it also pursued whalers and the act of war by the French Government in sinking it al the best urban

Oh! Was that "follow it" to literally mean "pursue it" in Urban's own water craft? Oh that would be fun! Yes, Greenpeace have since stopped that approach & prefer to lobby opposing governments now. Such a shame!

I say, Urban old chap - do you also like to champion the cause up there in dear old England? Risk life & limb for lofty ideals & noble sentiments?

Have you heard the latest? They've got three of our blokes on board & they're going to haul them up in a Japanese prison! http://news.yahoo.com/activists-board-japanese-whaling-vessel-sea-shepherd-021930514.html;_ylt=A0oGdM4COQpP7iYAcCMPxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTExN2szY25nBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA3NwMQR2dGlkAwRsA1dTMQ-- http://uk.news.yahoo.com/activists-board-japanese-whaling-vessel-sea-shepherd-021930514.html The Japanese already unfairly tried one of our blokes years ago doing something similar (made a citizen's arrest in that instance)... he got two years jail for it. This vessel the trio boarded is purpose-built & armed to the teeth to deal with Sea Shepherd who it's currently tailing.

Yes i read this in the news section of Sea Shepherd website. We will see this when Animal Planet series go in the air. They will show how they go on to the ship.

Sorry - the guy they jailed was actually a New Zealander (who still calls Australia home!). The latest now is that the Japanese plan to return the men to Oz without trial in Japan. They were on a hunger strike without medication.

The Whalers are using tear gas on the Sea Shepherd now. Can you believe it? Where did they even get that stuff from? Surely that's Japanese Government intervention?

Oh thank you! I didn't know they had a dedicated website... I'd better go check it out. I think Sea Shepherd are finding it easier to track down the Japanese Whaling fleet now with their use of military-style drones, so they can see what they are up to at all times.

I think direct action certainly has its merits & is worth seeing where your money goes.

I also support Sea Shepherd and their attempt at stopping the whaling. I know that Paul Watson was arrested and being detained in Germany. I haven't heard anything else about him lately. But I figured they would go without him if they had to and continue on.

I keep up with the Sea Shepherd crew all the time. I'm still waiting for the results of Paul Watson being arrested. As far as I know he is still being detained in Germany. It doesn't seem to be stopping him from doing his work though. He still maintains a Facebook account and Twitters things every chance he gets. I'm sure they will still go to protect the whales even if he can't go with them.
