transition: leaving your current home and work

Months ago, I wanted to go abroad. Then, I get nervous when I was hired. I don't know if I have to pursue and process the requirements. Nevertheless, I did and got my visa ready. So, I render my resignation from work. Oh! I've been there for years... I'll miss everyone. More than that, I'll be away from home. This would be the first time! I'm excited, anxious but more sad... hope i'll get over this feelings. Wish me luck guys.

Working abroad is one of my plans because it greatly appeals to me being in a whole different place and situation. Add to that, meeting new people everyday and interacting with them. I've already worked for a couple of companies here in my country for more than 2 years each and it really is difficult leaving them when you've truly enjoyed your stay there because of the friends and the good working atmosphere. Being in a new work means another adjustment to many things. Do your best in your new place and work. Make yourself proud of the decision you made! :)

I had one teaching contract from May to October to cover a teacher that was having a baby. Then in the November I went off on my trip to New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. I stayed away until the spring so I have a summer when my home country had its winter. I hope that you will have a fantastic time abroad. It is understandable you feel a bit nervous. In this day and age it is easy to stay in contact with family members and friends. I wish you lots of luck and enjoyment.

hi there, That's good news. Working abroad and away from your family would be hard. But this opportunity comes once in your lifetime. Which country are you going? I hope i could also work abroad. I haven't tried working away from home, but i really do want to. Did you apply for any agencies? How many months did you wait for your visa? for sure you'll miss everyone and they'll miss you too. I hope that you can still visit mylot once you got there. goodluck and have a safe trip soon.

Re-locating can be exciting as well as challenging. In abroad you don't know anyone. You are alone. Its not your home turf any more, though this thing does seem exciting for a bit, but believe me, you will be bored there (unless you plan on settling there). There's nothing like home. Being away from home and your parents will do you good in a way, as you will be able to understand their importance and their immense love for you. best of luck mate. Don't be sad.

Congratulations on getting the new job first and foremost, secondly, it is a very scary and long process to relocate. There is so much to learn about your new surrounding on top of getting used to your new line of work, if you are doing this alone I would highly recommend making a friend who is a local. Have said friend show you around to the local hot spots and hidden treasures, nothing better than finding something new you may like to eat or do. Best of luck to you though and hope your endeavor is great and fruitful.
