Ovarian cyst cause a miscarriage

A family memeber asked me over this last weekend on the phone if the reason why I had a miscarriage was due to an ovarian cyst? I told her no that I lost the baby because implantation where the egg didn't attach itself to me. The ovarian cyst was a week after I had a miscarriage. She didnt know what cause an ovarian cyst so I had to explain that as well where it is an egg in the ovary start breaking down and liquid starts filling into the egg causing a cyst and normally they will shrink or pop with in a few days but I does cause a lot of pain. Some women have to have surgery to remove them but not all of the time. To my knowledge and readings that an ovarian cyst can cause a miscarriage but I'm not a doctor.
