Huge house spiders are very common everywhere and we get scared each time we see them specially if they are close to us. I'm not afraid of spiders if they don't get near me. It just gives me the creeps if huge spiders are very close to me. I made a fast simple drawing using MSpaint i'm not much good in drawing so that's all I can draw. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/spiderm.jpg/

HI Jacruz! I'm not afraid of spiders but big spiders also give me the creeps. Whenever I see a big spider at home, I imagine it crawling in my skin and my hair would stand up. I'm not afraid of them because I know I can kill them with my slippers, it's just that it's... disgusting. The hair, the long legs, the big tummy, they all look disgusting.

I am not afraid of spider either. But i avoid it from getting close to me. It might be poisonous. Sometimes, i would just shoo it away, by sweeping it with a soft broom.

Commonly, women are more afraid of insects or brutal animals than men. Ah, if I have a chance, I will step on it quickly and hard when the spider doesn't move so fast to escape out of my control because I fear that it will be near me again if I let it go.

I'm not necessarily afraid of spiders. Unless of course they are poisonous, which is not something that I don't know on sight. Therefore that would really be a good reason to be a little fearful about them. Still there are many people who have phobias and those creepy crawlies with eight legs are going to stir a lot of bad times for people. Often times, it may be some kind of traumatic memory from their childhood days. There are just going to be a lot of times where people are going to fear something because something occurred. Of course there is nothing worse than going to take a bath and seeing a spider that is in the tub. Of course, it does drown easily and then it's down town to toilet town.

I think spiders in general look ugly and scary. It must be because of its many legs which are hairy as well. Add to that its head or face that has like holes for eyes. They are so scary to even imagine. Add to it the fact that some spiders are are poisonous.

I am told there are spiders in forests whose single bite can kill an elephant in few minutes, and they are not big, more over all spiders are not poisonous too, we have spiders, spider webs in home, lol they are part of our homes though we clean regularly.. Happy posting, cheers. Kalyani

I think most people are scared when they are closer to them. The spider is seen as a creepy crawling insect that can possibly bite them, or just the fact it crawls on things is creepy to some people. I know it's not right to base things on looks alone, but they are ugly and just not appealing in any way to me. They do eat alot of other insects so i usually leave them alone if outside, however inside is when I draw the line.

People are generally afraid of not only spider but a lot of bugs and even certain animals. Snakes even non poisonous ones will generally make people react badly. One thing I will admit that makes me nervous are tarantulas, though they are not from around here they freak me out. I know in my rational mind that they are mostly not poisonous they kill prey by constriction but whenever I see one at a pet store uhhh. On the other hand, black widows, reasonably common spider, highly poisonous, I will trap an put outside - very carefully, but they don't bother me. I think the bigger the spider the more we react to it. But I will admit that most small bugs do not bother me generally, but larger ones will make my hair stand on end.

I am not afraid of spiders. But I wish to clarify that it is only natural if we wish not to be near them. It is already embedded into our person to feel goosebumps whenever we see them or just be near them. It's our body telling us that they might be a danger to our life just like how one usually feels when one sees either a snake, shark or crocodile...only theirs is intense because you REALLY KNOW that they can kill you for sure if you don't get away soon.

I have a friend who is deathly afraid of spiders of any kind. He is a big guy too - you would never think he would be afraid of something like a spider - but he says those creepy crawly legs just gross him out. One time I sent him a card and I stamped a spider image on the back of the envelope. I colored it really well - looked somewhat realistic. I sent it to him and that stamp was just a joke. Well next time I saw him, he nearly killed me for it. He said he jumped as soon as he saw that spider and he dropped the envelope and stomped the heck out of it - ha ha. He didn't think it was a funny joke!!!

i am one of the spider fearer, and i think when it comes to arachnophobia, i can say that i am a winner of nervousness nyahahaha the only reason why people are afraid to a so-very-fat indoor spider is because of the their stillness that sticks on the floor that they instantly runs at the speed faster than a bullet i think, very fast, those hairs visible, the shape of their spherical back... i sometimes wonder why God created them, especially when a power interruption then a black out or brown out situation, i never go to comfort room because i am expecting that a so-very-fat spider that i will only accidentally touch their hairy back.

I hate huge spiders! They're simple so ugly and disgusting! Spiders are scary looking anyway so I do never want to be close to any spider. I don't mind if it's far away but the closer it is the more freaked out I am! There was one huge spider running on the ceiling of my car was I was being driven to school and I was so scared. I thought it was going to leap on me! I guess we get the impression that the bigger they are, the more dangerous they are because they have much bigger fangs. Funny though because in Australia, there are these spiders call the red backs and they're very small. They're this small black spiders with a red line on their back. These red backs are very dangerous, one bite could kill you! Because they're so tiny, you can get easily bitten if you're sitting on a chair outside or something. I've seen a few in my yard. So we can't judge depending on size, some big ones are less deadlier than the poisonous tiny spiders. But I don't want to be in contact with anything with eight legs.

Big spiders don't scare me as long as they keep their distance or just, you know, stay outside and don't bother me. I welcome some of the harmless big spiders because they keep other insects out of my house, but they're just so ... so ... so creepy and crawly. I've got this weird fascination with them nonetheless and I once spent a few minutes watching a big spider build a web outside my house. The only spiders you will ever see me not actively freaking out over are jumping spiders. They're the cool spiders. But then again, they aren't really known to get too big, because I'm sure if they grew any bigger then I would probably be more afraid.

Iam scared of spiders, because they are hairy, ugly and scary. I always see them at moments Iam not expecting in one. I always turn on the light and always search for any 'ambushes' of spiders. Iam really scared of seeing a spider even the smallest ones!

There's a type of giant house spider I've found around my house on several occasions..I trap them and evict them,I don't kill them,so I do hope it's not the same one getting back in! I don't mind letting small spiders walk on my skin, but when the beggars are big enough to HEAR as they scuttle across the floor,it's choose a window time...Yer Leavin'.....

Mostly spiders are considered as venomous and they are. Their saliva carries this venom, which helps it to capture prey. If it comes in contact with human skin, you may experience rashes, allergies and strange burn sort of things. And some people are arachnophobic - they fear spiders altogether. So that explains your question. Also, there's this huge spider in my washroom, I think it is Daddy-long-legs. I'll take a pic if I can. It looks so cool.
