Scenes After the Credits

Have any of you noticed that there have been an increasing about of scenes after the credits of movies?? I have seen this in movies such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Captain America. Although the scenes may sometimes be interesting, it is annoying if you miss it because you did not stay to watch the credits. What do you think of scenes after the credits of a movie??

I don't quite understand this at all. Why would there be scenes after the credits? I always thoughtt the appearance of the credits signalled the end of the movie.

They put it after the credits to make sure people actually look at the credits. A lot of people never watch the credits and this way they kind of force people to do so. It is also a reward for those that stay till the very end.

We'll I find it more interesting to watch the credits when it has twin clip like Jackie Chan's Movie, you can watch at the end of the movie all the funny things that happen while their filming the movie at the same time you can read the credits.

I think they're fun. I like watching them as I get up and stretch and it's something nice that distracts you. I think the scenes after the Disney movies are the best because they're entertaining for the kids.

yes..i like those hidden scenes after all the credits. it usually gives a snipets of the next movie to come especially for sequels liek Captain america..thor ,iron man etc.. and some scenes after credits in a non continuing movie..will let u see what happened to the characters or to whole movie and some situation in that particular movie..like whether or not the bad boss ended up in jail etc.. only problem is ..if u r in the cinema..u dont really wanna sit around too long ..or sometimes the cinema people stop rolling the film..and turned on the ligts..that suck..especially if i wanna wait to see the end credit scene.when i know theres bound to be one. but in blurays..thats fine..because i fast forward it..

It is pointless, because those scenes are really short for example the scenes of The A-Team. I thought it was worth it, but sadl enough it wasn't. I don't think people will stay, they go to house, download the movie and skip the credits to see those 'wonderfil' scenes.

There are several more, and sometimes the credit have little snippets immediately after the first credit, like Domino showing the real person Domino, or with the credit rolling that give a different ending to a movie like Chicago. Movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and X-Men have short scenes that actually give a different explanation or preview to a movie. All of this is to make people read credits so that the many people that work on every part of the movie get recognized. The other reason is to make more people watch, because soon one friend tells another and another and sometimes people are willing to watch again just to see the extra scene.

I've always sat through credits. Even when I'm watching movies at home and I know there isn't anything at the end. It's a habit I picked up from my parents, because when I was little and everyone would be leaving the theater my parent would say, "We're going to stay for the goodbye music!" and we would sit until the credits ended, trying to read as many names and positions as we could. Sometimes it's really fun, and you'll see some crazy positions or similar names (family project! lol) or any number of things that most people don't think about when they think about a movie being made. It might have been a habit I picked up from my parents, but I'm probably going to be sticking with it. The way I see it, if you enjoyed the movie... the least you can do is watch the names of all the people who put it together float by. Plus, I'm a film student now and I have a new appreciation for all the different jobs and people it takes to make a film. As for why there are extra scenes after lots of films these days... I have a few theories but no real clue. First theory: So more people will watch credits and see the names of EVERYONE who played a part (though not on screen) in making the movie a reality. Second theory: Filmmakers want to reward credits-watchers. Lots of credits-watchers have a deep passion for movies, and sometimes are filmmakers or aspiring filmmakers themselves. So an extra scene at the end is like an easter egg for the most dedicated film lovers.

If you're able to catch them they're pretty cool. But you never know which movies are going to do this and it's annoying when you miss it. I guess it just gives us all a reason to stay and watch the credits of all movies. I saw rise of the planet of the apes, but what was the extra scene? I watched it online and it stopped right when the credits started.
