Philippine Feast of Black Nazarene, they say 1,000 injuries plus 1 death... Is the will of God to push each other more like playing a game of rugby ball? That 8 figure of rope, that pushing of rope, the towels thrown at the black statue of Nazarene believed to have some magical powers that may lead your life a good fortune, a good future? Why is it that on December 24 evening when we visit the church to kiss the statue of Jesus Christ's foot, then why is it done without pushing each other? and why is it in Black Nazarene, need to push each other? does the holy bible say that we need to push each other, and the more we hurt all the devotee present there are the more God enjoys?

I'm a devoted Catholic but each time I see what happens during the Black Nazarene feast, I feel sad and disappointed on how unruly and undisciplined some devotees are. I mean, professing our faith in Jesus need not be chaotic. And you're right, we don't do this inside the church. I don't see any reason why we can't do it outside the church also, the pushing and shoving.

If this continues to happen where people will get hurt in this feast day, the Church ought to stop it's tradition of parading the Black Nazarene. Darn the traditions as long as people will be kept safe as Jesus did in his time by upholding what is right despite traditions...-__-

its a tradition, for them, that is the only way that God will grant their wish... still, the only way for the mankind to do is to pray that nobody hurts during that 8-rope and due to pushing for the intention to be close near that caravan.

Those people are really misguided. Is there really a time or schedule when the miracle of God would happen in their lives? Heck, it's already a miracle they are still alive despite how they said their life is hard to live while they have better gadgets than me...well anyways, I don't think it is the will of God to let those people act like they're seeing Michael Jackson carrying the cross instead of him. I think it is more in his will that people, such as and ESPECIALLY the Filipinos, would know how to discipline themselves enough that they'll even KNOW, comprehend and understand HOW to form a good straight line even in lining up to the treasurer of a school campus and try not to insert in front of people who waited not patiently in line. (Did I get some of you? Oh well, bato bato sa langit tamaan mabukulan!)

Thanks! But sometimes, I wish I can really say what I mean to say in a less...pain-inflicting way. Now that I read about it, it seems like I'm really kicking my own kinsmen.
