In this days computer viruses is not that much popular. I think is the century of malware. I have a computer company and i deal every day with computers with malware on it. I star use the program call Spybot Search And Destroy, you can google it because i am new here and i cant post links. After this my live go better. If you look the name you say he is joking but "NO" i am not joking. This program work perfect for me and my clients. When you install it and update it then you scan your computer with it. If you find some malware on your computer Fix it. Then you use a option in the program call "Immunize" your computer will be protected in full. Dont forget to use this program one time in 2-3 weeks. First update all malware definitions and then scan. Belive me you will be happy to use this program. The program detect all changes in the registry of the computer and ask you every time they will be change. You decide are you pass the changes or not. I hope i help the people with this and help them with malware problems.

I prefer Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, personally. It's lighter and doesn't leave stuff running in the background as "protection" which just chews up extra system resources.

I can tell you for this program you will never notice resource problems with it. You wull never notice some slowing on your PC. From my 15 years with computers i can tell you what program is good or not. Try it and then we can talk. :)

I also believe that AntiMalware from Malwarebytes is probably better than Spybot, which is quite an old program now. I just haven't got round to testing it, since my combination of Avast, Zonealarm and Spybot seem to give me adequate protection.

Tried Spybot, uninstalled it because it's annoying and chews up unnecessary system resources. You might not notice it but I do. (Over 30 years with computers here, by the way, hehe!)

I caught a virus last summer I used every free anti-virus and virus removal tool I could find. Most of them was useless a total waste of time all hypedid nothing for my virus problem. The only ones of value to me were: 1. combo fix, but it was infected with viruses. 2. Super anti spyware it removed all the adware. 3. Malwarebyte removed adware and most malware, but didn't solve the problem. 4. Escan was the best that I tried to remedy the problem, it helped some. 5. Glary cleaner was one of the better registry cleaners I've used with it's many tools it provides, helped a lot. Spybot scanned my computer for about 2 hours just to tell me no viruses were found; this is what I got from most so-called free malware and virus scanners nada, zilch, zero, NOTHING!

You say, Spybot scan your computer and not found any viruses. Ok but i hope you make a diference between virus and malware. Thea reason he did not find anything is because you have a virus on your computer not malware. For malware with TeaTime protection activ you not gona have any problems for malware. Virus programs need a new topic for discussion.

Yes, I have used spybot and like it. And yes, my antivirus program still finds viruses coming in and grabs them.

I find that a combination of anti-spyware, anti-virus and firewall programs are needed for complete protection. You certainly cannot rely on Spybot alone, good though it is for a freebie, and you would be crazy to do so! Spybot S&D is one of the programs I recommend (especially if you use the TeaTimer function as an active background check), however it is absolutely essential to use an AV product as well. I find that Avast works very well for me and it also warns me about (and blocks) any website which may contain malware. There are other freeware AV solutions which are as good, however, and I would trust AVG and Avira. Panda Cloud is the one which PC Magazine currently lists as the best but I haven't tried it yet. I also use Zonealarm firewall but, if you are running Win 7, this is probably no longer necessary.

yeah.. I am always suggesting my clients and on mylot too that one should use spybot search and destroy.. mostly I suggest following programs to install when you think your system is infected.. 1. Windows Defender (free with licensed OS) 2. ZoneAlarm/Comodo Free firewall 3. Antimalwarebyets (freeware) 4. Spybot search and destroy.(Freeware) 5. Advance system care (freeware) if you can't get rid with your Antivirus.. go to either Norton/Kaspersky site. download trial version of 30 days. and run it.. combination of above security suites will surely make your system clean.. :-) Courtesy : http://www.techrepublic.com/ http://www.technet.microsoft.com/ http://javadotnet.in/ http://www.techsupportalert.com/ http://www.symantec.com/ :-)
