What an exhausting day for me. I went out today to canvas my site in my city. I have a community website and I'm offering free pages to every business here. All they need to do is give me few words so that I'll get an idea what to write in each page. I also asked few information like the manager, contact numbers and other that are not personal (of course). Yet, they still refuse my offer. People, its FREE!!! They got nothing to lose. Well, its their choice. I believe, one day they will be running after me. They regret they refuse my offer. I'm not being too proud of myself here. I just know the fact that if I won't give up and try other else I'll succeed.. and I won't regret every single experience that I've been through because of this. Will you give some of your time if someone LIKE me (in your place) ask or offer things like this? Because if I were a businesswoman and someone offers me a free page to promote my business, how can I ever refuse? I'm not giving my hopes up. FIGHTING!

With how the world is today, it is no longer uncommon for experiences like this. I do, however see where you are from in this situation and i am rooting for your success. I guess you just have to make a name for yourself first before gaining the trust and confidence of this people. Good luck and best wishes on your endeavor!

As long as you stay focused on your goal and step on no one, you'll go a long way.

With so many scams nowadays, I feel we have to understand why people are hesitant with any "free" offers. Don't feel so upset with their reaction. It is just what we will advise our friends when they ask us about a "too-good-to-be-true-offer". Your endeavor is good but knowing the current environment with many cheats around, a different approach is needed. Why don't you instead of offering free, charge a small fee? Something like a meal's cost? Then you show them a sample of what it will look like, custom author it to suit the industry of the people you are talking to, so that he can relate the end product with. I am sure most business people will be interested in something that can help them to make more money. It is just the way you present it that you may need to change. It will work, seeing how determine you said you are. Good luck!

okay. Maybe I'll try to charge a small fee. And maybe, I'll study for more strategies on approaching them. I know, you're right. They are hesitant of the free offer because of those a lot scams everywhere. I understand them and it took me a while to realize it. Silly me.

Hi. Probably people nowadays are rather skeptical about anything free. Most of them think there's some hitch or something. I mean, I for one feel some apprehension about any offer that's free, especially things online. But that's right, don't lose hope. Eventually those people would realize that they'll really benefit from the services you offer :)

Actually, not all people here refused to my offer. Some accept it and some are kind of hesitating. You're right. Probably they think its a scam or something. But, really, its not. I'm just trying to help my city boost its tourism. You know, there are quite hidden beautiful spots here and I know that tourist will love them if they see it! :) I'm not giving up. Thanks!

Experienced that too, my lady! :) You know, they should give it a try since its free. They'll see if its really good for them or not then after that, they can decide whether to cancel it or not. Right?

hi edss I assume that they misunderstand you, they think that you have a bad intention for doing that, try to ask only if it is ok that their business will featured on your site for free, no need to ask for other info about the owner just some of the few review of the business on your own. The important is that you ask a permission and they give it to you. Just a straightforward question that could be answer with a yes or no.
