Manchester United had some payback for the 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Man City by beating them 3-2 to throw them out of the FA Cup. Man City captain Vincent Kompany was red carded early in the game to leave Man City to play almost the entire game with 10 men. Man United took the lead to Rooney and were soon 3-0 up before the half with Rooney scoring two goals and one goal from Welbeck. But after the break Man City really fought back with a fantastic free kick by Kolarov and a goal from Aguero. City had a chance for a late late equalizer when Lindergaard spilled the ball from another Kolarov free kick, but United survived. Cheers! Ram

That is football. It is not very predictable. You may win today and then you may lose another day.

Ram Man U have done very well to win over Man City but you see the game should have been 3-3. The referee reused to award a panety to Man City so to me the referee help Man U in some way in this game

Actually I did not think it was a penalty. The ball hit Jones on his head and as he slipped, hit his hand. Of course, I have seen some of those given, but it was not intentional. So actually I think he got it right. But Man City definitely were close quite a few times, but as they say that the result is what matters at the end of the day!! Cheers! Ram

Yes, actually for the neutrals Man City took more brownie points than Man Utd. At 3-0 Man Utd had a chance to make a statement to revenge the 6-1 defeat earlier in the season. Instead City really dug deep and fought really hard to come back 3-2!! Cheers! Ram

It is definitely a match worthy of a FA Cup tie. Both teams going out for it. Man City cause wasn't aided by Kompany's sending off. Having said that, I felt the sending off is justified. I am smacking my lips for the Man Utd next match up, against fierce rival Liverpool.

Yes, already this year's FA Cup has grabbed it's share of the headlines. With the Man U - Man City contest living up the expectations and Thiery Henry's fantastic comeback for Arsenal. The Cup magic continues. Next up is the blockbuster with Liverpool. Cheers! Ram

Well, this was really fantastic game and could be better if both team playing with full squad. United has every thing in the first half include all the luck from terrible decision from referee..How can he made such decision ? He even standing very far from Kompany and Rooney provoked him and should be ashamed if he watched the video replay. Mancini has shown his brilliant tactic at second half and almost caught United 3-3 with ten man..United has really survived this time as you said..

Well, understand his team reduced to ten men..he let United has ball possession and keep the pace on the break with resulted two goals and could become more if they have luck..but luck was on United sides today..along with their referee friend..one thing Mancini fault was his fight with Tevez, he could make big difference in this situation..

Hmm... Actually at 3-0 at half time, United had a chance to make it a complete humiliation for Man City. I actually thought they missed taking this opportunity. Cheers! Ram

You are right Ram! we had lot of chances whilst we played carelessly thats why we conceded two goals.

As usual for this fixture recently, It was a rather controversial game but I believe the sending off did not throw the game to United. They were absolutely fantastic in the first half and City to their credit came back very well in the second.

Actually in the first half the sending off was really the issue. Man City could not recover in the first half and Man United cashed in with 3 goals. But the half time pep talk by Mancini seemed to work and Man City tried really hard to come back in the game and pulled 2 goals back. Cheers! Ram

I'm not watch it, cause I'm not a fans from both teams. But for me, MU or Ferguson have to think about total regenerations of His team. It's not about big name or a loyality anymore, but more about stamina.

I completely agree. It was really the height of desperation when Sir Alex got Paul Scholes to play the game as he needed someone to shore his defense. What does Paul Scholes do with his first touch in a year, he leads to the second Man City goal!! Cheers! Ram
