I ask this against the background of the fact that going to the theater these days is are so expensive and I am not just talking about the tickets but food ,gas etc .In addition when you consider that you could easily rent a DVD or choose to watch it online. So again I ask what factors will force you to dig deep to go to watch a movie in the theater?

I used to go out alot to watch movies when i had a car. We have some theaters here that have discounted prices. Day $2.50 nite $3.50. It cost more for soda and popcorn than it dose to see the movie. Now dont have a car and ive moved so now it will take 3 buses to get there so i dont go. I love the pirate of the caribbean movies. Last summer when the last one got to the discount theather i got all ready to go and the last minute i changed my mine because i plan to buy it anyway. Its too much of a hassel to get there by bus.

There are regular priced cinemas that are further away where i can take one bus. But i dont go to thoses because of the cost. I prefer to go to the discounted one. Each bus is a short trip but there are still 3 of them to catch to go to that one. I have watched a few movies online but my connenction isnt that great either so sometimes it takes time to buffer. Plus it takes memory and harddrive space that i would rather same for my game playing.

Nothing. Most of the movies put out these days aren't worth the price of a ticket 50 years ago.

NOTHING factors in my desire to go out to a theater to see a movie!!! I stopped going to theaters almost 20 years ago. I find it MUCH MORE convenient to rent a movie so I don't have to get dressed up...not counting the price of the tickets, popcorn, drinks, etc!!! I've grown comfortable watching a rented movie on my TV where I can hit pause when Mother Nature calls. I can also prepare healthier popcorn for my tummy's pleasure & I have more control over my choice of drinks!!! I'm at the stage in my life where most current movies are barely worth the price of rental & most definitely NOT worth the price of a ticket!!! I often watch my movies alone so I can laugh when I'm tickled & cry when the need arises without hearing any grief from my guests. I occasionally invite guests to share a movie with me. In all honesty, I usually prefer to watch them alone. I have one dear friend & we watch movies together even though we live over 500 miles apart. We text our comments & enjoy watching our movie!!! No matter what I choose to do, I ALWAYS choose to avoid theaters!!!

I consider a few things. If I am going out to a movie then I ask my friends and family that will be going with me to see what they wanted to see. Then I would mediate so we could come to a compromise. If we are at home then I basically do the same thing.

I honestly don't go to the movie theater very often these days because of the fact that it is so expensive to go and see a movie at the theater. However, there are some movies that I will go and see at the theater, for example the Twilight movies because they are something that I really enjoy and I like the effect of seeing them on a big screen. The other reason that I will go to the theater from time to time is because I think it is a great way of rewarding my children when they've been behaving.
