Have You Ever Died and Came Back? What Do You Think Happens?

I died once. When I was an older teen, I had been to the doctor to get a prescription for my seasonal allergies. Back then, Benadryl was available only be prescription as it was considered a class 5 drug. This was over three decades ago - nearly four! After I got the script, I almost didn't get it filled right away, but my allergies were bothering me so badly - this was Spring- that I did. About fifteen minutes before I got home I took one, swallowing it with the bottle of coke I had. No one else was home at the time, and I let myself in. As I was taking off my light jacket, I felt my throat close up completely and suddenly everything was black. I have no idea how much time passed, but then after the blackness, there was an awareness of gasping for breath as the swelling dissipated, and I was able to breath. At the same time, I felt an intense itching on the back of my neck. Reaching back to scratch, I felt a huge swelling there. My feeling is some insect either bit or stung me on the back of my neck. This caused an immediate Anaphylactic shock, severe enough to cause my throat to swell up to the point where I couldn't breathe. As a doctor told me later, I died. Then, the benadryl in my system kicked in, sending antihistamines through my blood stream, and reversing the shock, so I came back. To this day I have no idea how long I was gone. All I can say is it was total nothingness. Yet, does that mean I don't believe there is anything beyond death? I'd still like to think there is, that I wasn't "dead" long enough. What do you think? Have you ever died?

Yes. I remember as a child being given ether for some extensive dental work. I was seven at the time. To this day I can still recall the smell and the awful sensation of not being able to breathe....but unlike that time when this incident happened there was no panic on my part.
