so you shouldn't eat it. So far I've gotten cancer is caused by sugar. If that's true, many Halloweens and Christmasses I should have gotten it and every person with a sweet tooth should have it. Thsy say it's caused by meat, then my Dad who ate 3 times the meat my Mom did should have gotten it and he didn't. It's caused by too acid a diet. Then no one who is on a low acid diet should have it or get it. I got it while on a low acid diet. On and on. Like my Dad used to say, "They say that eating food will kill you. But if you stop eating food, you die of that, too." My Dad ate all kinds of garbage and died of heart disease. My Mom ate only good food and died of cancer. This is a REALLY sore subject with me. I need a polite way to tell people to keep their aggravating opinions to themselves. Any ideas? P. S. I watched both of them die. Heart Disease looked like it was alot better to die from. So bring on the fatty foods, oh yeah, those are supposed to cause cancer, too. Everything is supposed to cause cancer.

I am going to take a risk here Writer, because I hear you, there are many things people say causes this or that, or heals this or that. But I saw this topic, from 3 different friends, and 3 different formats in as many days. I didn't read or view the article or video, but to me, it sounds reasonable. You don't have to watch the video, but I at least want to offer it to you as a friend who is really trying to help.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grtrm8tk4d4&sns=fb

I've seen it. The baking soda cure. The original was baking soda and maple syrup. This one is baking soda and molasses. My friend took it for three months, it tore up her stomach and she's still dying of cancer. Actually, it's now in her liver.

"They" have no real clue as to what causes cancer. They see a group of people eating around and a bout the same things that develop similar problems and poof...the common food caused it. They can pretty much prove the fatty foods and the heart issue..but cancer..it's the sudden production of abnormal cells. One day a cell starts reproducing abnormally for whatever reason and that is cancer. I wonder if it has anything to do with food at all. It might have something to do with the specific chemistry of a person with a reaction to certain exposures but there is noway to predict it. I am thinking that is why there hasn't been a cure. If you can't identify the problem, they certainly can't prevent or cure it. I think if someone said this or that caused cancer...I would smile sweetly and say..yes...and so does the detergent you use on you clothes..and oh..your not wearing sunscreen are you? I am being nasty..I know...but I also know it's not easy to hear everyone's opinion about the things you eat or what you have done to find a "reason" too. Ok..polite....Smile and say..well..according to them..everything causes it, so no one is safe. Unless you love them...I like the nasty response better though

A friend of mine's son worked in a bathroom fragrance freshioner factory. Those spray cans. He got cancer in so many places they thought he wasn't going to make it. Nose, throat, lungs, stomach. It was horrible. Clean your bathroom with vinegar and baking soda, it will smell just fine. In the summer, open a window. Geesh! Yes, they used to say everything causes cancer. I think it's getting that way. I emailed a friend and told her that she should just be glad I'm eating anything after what I've been through. Some of the chemos make everything taste like metal and you don't care if you eat at all.

I'm getting most notifications. But during the mess where # marks showed up on discussions, I couldn't respond. That was sooo frustrating. Some of the ones I started during the # time never got any responses. What a mess that was.

Thanks for the best response! I haven't been getting proper notifications forever. I think that eating at all would be the thing that made me feel better about my friend too.

I know what you mean. I honestly think it's because they don't know what causes cancer and they're shooting in the dark. This study seems to point to this and that study points to something else... Whatever it is, it's increasing cancer cases more and more. I think it's high time "they" got out of the guessing game and got serious about finding out what causes it. My guesses are as good as theirs and I'm guessing a form of malnutrition or overload of toxins caused by our horrible food system in conjunction with so many radio/electric waves in the air. But mine is a guess, just like theirs is. Ignore them.

They're just telling you what they've heard. I don't think there is a "safe" place in the world any more. Maybe some are better than others, but none are completely clean. The human body can take care of itself to an amazing degree, but there comes a point where it's overwhelmed. Maybe that's why so much cancer... but no one knows, really.

I think overwhelmed is accurate. I had blood in my urine (cancer that my dumb Dr. couldn't see without a seeing eye Dr) for two years and then I got really sick, this miserable illness wouldn't get out of my lungs. After weeks of trying to fight that, the cancer went rampant. But before that I kept it at bay, something 2 years before allowed it to get a foot hold. So I think you are correct.

It's friends I have to ignore. They're the ones saying they say. My friends are going to quit telling me to eat sugar, meat, fruit, acid causing things, fat, etc pretty soon. Yes, I think it's a guess. We have very high instances of cancer where I live. We have an old air force base and lots of old iron mines plus lots of old dumps and we have tons of acid rain from Detroit that floats over here. NYC had radiation experiments that could have come this way as well as goodness knows what else.

I get so annoyed with all the foods that are suppose to cause this or that. Why don't they do studies on why people are so greedy and why they will not give out the cure for cancer and the common cold, etc. I believe there is a cure for cancer and the common cold, etc., Probably for heart disease as well as diabetes. Why should they let everyone know there is a cure for these things, when they can bleed everyone dry. No that I got that out of my system. I watched my sister die of lung cancer. Not a pretty site. All of these companies that produce food products should be ashamed of themselves. As they put chemicals into these food products that can be causing alot of the problems. If it is not in the food, it is in the cleaning products, it is probably in perfumes, candles, anything we spray into the air, etc. When we didn't have as many products on the shelves to choose from, we didn't have all of the items put into these products either. Things were made simpler years ago. Sometimes I wish things would go back to a simpler way of life. Chemicals on our fruits and vegetables, etc., all of these can cause health problems. I often wonder if something in ourselves or in our DNA is what contributes to the diseases, or makes us more susceptible to cancers, heart disease, etc.

Hi Really sorry for your parents. I face a similar situation with mine too. They are both alive but regarding the matter of nutrition that is strange. My dad always eat fatty foods, meat, not vegetables anf generally has a bad nutrition. He is 78 years old and he is completely healthy, he has an organism of a young person. My mom on the other hand she followed and still has a healthy nutrition with vegetables, fruits etc Unfortunately she has vry high level cholesterols, high pressure and she lives with pills. What i am trying to say is that cancer or whatever disease someone will have in his life depends on the heritance, genes and how his body immune system reacts. And i also like to add that STRESS can cause many problems and even cancer.

Yes, and I think listening to "they say" and having to defend what you do and don't eat is stressful. Some people's problems respond to diet and some don't. Some diet could make worse.

the problem, i think, is that cancer is a collective name for a lot of different illnesses all involving unregulated cell growth (i got that last bit from wikipedia). and so the problem is that because all these illnesses are called "cancer" people think there is a common cause and a common cure. whereas that is not the case. there are probably things in our environment that interfere with cell growth, but i would avoid all simplistic cure suggestions, as the reasons why cells don't grow properly is probably too complicated to be solved easily. in the end though, the only thing that matters, is what might have caused yours. i would argue that you could ensure your diet is as healthy as possible, so that you assist your body in fighting back, and ideally remove any emotionally stressful things too, so that you make things easy for your body. but beyond that i would take advice from the doctors, not helpful friends, though no harm in having a word with the man upstairs. though don't get too annoyed with your friends, it proves they care about you.
