I am trying to build up my immune system. I work in a place that I have to deal with money, loads of people and stress. Also, my new years resolution is to start eating better. My mother recently had a stint put in her main artery of her heart. It was just a really big wake up call for me. So what I am asking is this, what foods should I stay away from, what foods increase cholesterol and want foods can help with build my immune system. (Basically all around advice on eating better.)

Actually if you are still young you can start eating your pork meat, but with the fatty part removed. Your chicken should be without skin. But since you are young, you can burn up those fats if you have eaten some, just don't eat much. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and fish too. Take a vitamin C supplement, because we cannot get the whole daily requirements of it from what we eat. Always be mobile and if you can, do some exercises. Most of all , have a happy disposition in life.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know B12 helped in the immune system. I knew it helped with energy but thats it. No worries about smiling, anyone that knows me knows I never have a frown on my face.

I think vegetable juices made at home not the bought bottles juices is very good for your health, and I am am an avid user of ginger and cinnamon in cooking and also my doctor gave me a recipe of a cake made from bran, chopped up apricots, sultanas soaked over night in milk then the next day add flour, ginger, vanilla and add cinnamon on top then cook....it seemed to help get my blood pressure down....

Well I've never tried to make my own vegetable juice. I normally just get a bottle of V8. Hmm, sounds tasty I'll have to try it.
