I have been a music fan all my life. My music has taken me through some ruff times as a youth, to good time as an adult. When I was down I would put my Earth Wind & Fire albums on and thier music would up lift my spirit and carry me on to peace. It would drive my mother crazy but she wouldn't say anything, she let me vent. Back then like most music lovers I payed a small fortune on music in those days. For 45's Albums and Casset Tapes I even had some 8 Track Tapes, now I am telling my age LOL. But now I work at a public library and I have a chance to collect just about any artist or album made old or new. So you can imagine that I have not payed for music in years not since I first got my ipod. I don't even have to take the CD's out of the library I just rip and serve them to my flash drive and from there I can load them on anything. Am I lucky or what? I would say that I am blessed right now and I plan to get every song that I can. So his to my music quest. How do you collect your personnal music? Please share your thoughtsomn this subject. "God bless!"

Iam only collecting the CDs of bands/artist where Iam fan of. So I only collect Coldplay, Elbow, White Lies, Muse, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Paramore CDs. I like to have them, because I like listen to them and I would help them earn money. It is a little bit, but it gives me a good feeling.

Hello reasco 1, I think we are the same, and yes, you are very lucky, I am a big fan of music, I collect almost every type, from classical to heavy metal. vinyl, CD, cassettes, I have no space in my house to keep all the stuff I have get throughout my life. Now, with the new technologies, we can now, get music for free and, from all over the world, something, that some years back, would have costs us a little fortune. I get from friends, and download from the web, I also havenĀ“t payed for music in years.

I simply cannot afford to buy original records so I opt for downloading songs I love online. I have bought one or two cds in my entire lifetime only because I bought it as a gift for myself.

Way back before the popularity of CDs and the downloading of music, I had also that passion of collecting albums especially of the '80s "New Wave" music. Aside from being an avid fan of the '80s British music (and a few American groups), I collected these 45s for, well, investment purposes. Sadly though I had to sell all of these when we encountered some financial problems. Well, it's a good thing though that there are lots of sites nowadays wherein you could download these music :)

I love to collect music, I have around 300 cds but I chucked some out and gave some old ones away a few years back. My Music taste is so wide that I am constantly listening to new music from very different styles. I love discovering new music and find the Internet is a great tool for doing just that.

I have various collections of music both audio and video of different artists on Cds and cassette tapes from 70s up to present. I played them once in a while at home without using ipod, flash drive or Mp4. I only use these gadgets when I'm traveling or away from home because I have to travel light. I am planning to make a library for my collections. It's fulfilling to see them well-arranged.

Hello, reasco1. It was over a long period of time. My mother sang to us when we were little, and most of the songs stayed with me, so I started collecting them when I was about 16. From then, I would buy one tape, and later cd, per week. It was some of what mom and dad liked, but mostly my music. Harp, pan flute, guitar classical, Elvis (my dad), Old country (mom), and some big band. I am 36 now and my taste in music has not changed. That is how I got my collection.
