Well, I love cruising and I have not been able to go on a cruise in about 2 years. I always talk about cruising and now I got my step daughter into it and she wants to go so for her birthday in October which she will be 12 I am planning a surprise cruise. Its going to be my stepdaughter, her dad, his mom, dad and sister so it will be like our first family vacation to in a way. I figured we should start planning now so we can pay for mostly everything before the cruise so we will have just spending money by the time comes. My only concern is that I have to get her a passport and I really hope her mom doesn't spoil the surprise for her. I think I am going to tell her we are going to DisneyWorld that way she has an idea of something in her head. Have you ever surprised someone by taking them on vacation? How did it turn out?

I've never surprised anyone with a vacation. I don't think I could afford that. But a few years ago, we surprised the grandparents of my kids. They live half way around the world and we never told them that we were coming for Christmas. Every morning they would sit in the porch in the front of their house to read the paper, and then one day we were just standing in front. It took them a while to realize that it was us.

I havent surpirsed anyone with going on vacation i dont like surpireses so i dont want to surprise anyone either. I want to know ahead of time and since i like to plan things i want things to be planned out and thats to hard to keep from someone. Going on a cruise is a great idea and going to disneyworld is great too and you know i would like to do both of them. I would like to surpirse tim with doing something but that would be to hard because my family would know and then tim wold find out somehow because the family is to big and involved with what everyone does.

It is an excellent idea to take your step daughter on a surprise cruise. At twelve years old it is likely to be a wonderful trip for her. To get a passport she will need photos and saying that you are planning trip overseas somewhere is a good idea. If I was you I would not mention Disney World but speak in a vague way. I wish you lots of luck planning your trip.
