Imagine the scenario, after a hard days work you come home, take a shower and the next half an hour is your quality time with your TV plus your favorite show is about to come on. You sit on your favorite chair and about to switch on TV. Your hands automatically go where the remote control usually is, But to your surprise its not there..., you start looking and spend the next 5min doing so, still cant find it and you just cant recollect where you have placed it last time, What will your true reaction/feelings be.

I've had that too! I just feel that the TV manufacturers who make the remote control so necessary by NOT including all the controls on the TV itself, are just incredibly stupid. I expect that they stole the designs since they obviously don't have any working brain cells themselves. Losing the remote is bad enough, but holding it in your hand with discharged batteries is even more frustrating.

Running out of batteries, that is another bummer. Just when there is an embarrassing scene on TV, the remote doesn't work.

I've had this happen too many times to count. With children who do not know how to put the remote away then cannot remember where they put it. I always thought my t.v remote should come with a page button, so you could just press a button on the t.v and the remote would beep. Unfortunatly that is not available so still spend many a times searching for the ever elusive remote control

I don't know if there are TV's with a remote control paging feature out there, but it's a good Idea..after all, cordless phones have it,why not remotes? the other option here would be some kind of a stick on tracker module or beeper you could attach to the remote..only that would mean yet another remote to use to track your other remotes! Alternatively, you could get one of those whistle activated keychains and attach it to the remote..

I have remotes for the DVD machine, the TV,and the set top digital box..the digital box one went missing, and unable to locate it when I got home after work, gave up and went to bed..turned out when I found it the next day the cat had bumped it off and it had landed under the computer desk!

Now that you mention it,when I AM home, the cat does play with the screen to get at the characters on there!

Really frustrating. I have been in that situation fair number of times. The longer it takes to find the remote the less interested i become. Sometimes i give up and watch whatever channel running.

It happened to me just before Xmas. My dog chewed the remote to my Roku (internet TV streaming box) that sits on my TV. You have to buy the remote from Roku so I would be without TV for about a week!!! Luckily after much searching I found a program online to have the remote on your computer!! so that worked until I got the replacement. Pretty cool what they have these days! It saved my life :)

I get frustrated and my temporary solution is to find a good channel by using the dials on the television. Here's a tip though, ALWAYS check under the paddings on your couch or sofa, it's where I usually find my TV remote.

Well my first reaction is manually turn on the TV so I will not miss any part of my favorite show...then I would preceed to look for the remote for maybe a few minutes then if its not found I would gladly sit my happy butt in my favorite chair and watch my favorite show.. the remote search would come later...But if its misplaced regardless who misplaced it...ITS MISPLACED..no need to freak out or get angry.. that type of reaction will truly not make the remote pop up in sight. Come on...after all is it really worth getting so vexed about??? Life is precious....its beautiful if we make it...what happened before remote...get up and do it manually...lots of people have survived a remoteless world....sorry just keeping it real.....
