and i can't go home because when he is done with the work he's supposed to have finished since yesterday, i will still have to test if the work he did is actually working or is useable. =( this saddens me really. i understand it is taking a lot of time from him but i wish to just know how he does it(its too technical) and i already have suggested a lot of process and logic and we have even seen a lot of other options but he remained really not focused on what we are supposed to do.. hence i find it sometimes i am close to being annoyed at him i want to leave already. I bet he won't finish and its already 8PM here in the Philippines and work finishes supposedly at 6pm. =( Ohh wish us like i wish we can have this fixed! It really is annoying or disheartening to be relying on someone to finish their work he's already got 3 days lead for this and we are supposed to test today to no avail =(

I can understand what you feel. As much as possible I also want to go home on time so I try to finish my daily work. But if my will depend to end on something, like what happened before. When I have to wait for some parcels to come. I always wish that it will come early so I can prepare the documents. And when it came late, I was feeling really sad and frustrated but work is work so I have to finish it. But in your case, I think you are there and just waiting for him. With no work to do but to wait for him so you can check his work. Well it's 9PM tonight and I hope he has done his work and you are on your way home now.

his inability to make the program work was a showstopper. it was a bit difficult, i'd say to just wait, because i know that i am not yet done after he is done with it, i will test it and stillmake the documents for sign off.

I always want to try to go home after finishing my detail work. but as an employee i always believe that my own work is finished by myself.i don't leave my work to any other shoulder. because responsibility is come to first and executes them neat and clean is my first duty.

Patience, my dear. It's a sad thing but for the time being, you can't do anything about it but wait. Perhaps your subordinate is a new employee? If so, it's understandable since he's still adjusting. Either way, it won't be helpful to procrastinate or you having to breathe on his neck while he's working. He's also under pressure. I hope that after this, something can be done to avoid this in the foreseeable future. Hope you are okay by now. God bless.

Wow!! This would truly be annoying for sure. Especially if they have had a lot of time to get this done, and are just not getting it done. If he is uncapable of getting this done in time, then why let him do it? Is it no one was aware of this, or the company does not care, or the person is just LAZY. Personally isn't there something that can be done so you could leave?

I understand how you feel, having to wait until he finishes then wait even longer to test it, and then be able to go home only to get up and do it all again tomorrow. I'd be a little sore and pissy myself, and not be in the best of moods to even communicate with him. I hope he's finished up and you are at home resting now!

It is really frustrating when we have to pay the price because somebody else is lazy. Always whenever we start any projects, i take a lot of care in choosing my partners, as i dont want to lose marks because of someone else. It may sound selfish and devoid of team spirit. But hey thats the wat it works.

such things always happens.. when you are working it also depends on what others do.. the same might go with your supervisor.. your boss might have to wait for you to finish the work some day.. the feeling is obvious..

hi chiyosan If you have a supervisor over you or a m anager can you go to him or her and explain about this wo rker who is always\late doing what he is supposed to do so you can test it and get done with it so you can go home when you are supposed to? If you do go have a chat wit this person so they can straighten him out.I used to work in o ur local library at odd hours and at closing time there was alway one person who had not started to finish up their chores when they were supposed to so we could all set the alarm and leave for home. And this one person even when she finally finished had charge of the alarm system and she had to first go around checking things again before just setting the alarm and let us all go home. lol
