Have you ever tried to make something different? I have this homemade type of chili that I will at times make. I will brown the meat, drain it, put it back in the skillet, add beans, chili powder and cook that all together. I'm not sure if that would be considered an "experiment" to some but to me it is.

I love creating new recipes ! I had created a Salsa recipe that everyone loves. My best recipes I created though I believe was when I had to make a change in my eating habits for my health. Poached Hawwian Chicken I called it , was my favorite. Grilled the chicken on the BBQ. Placed it in a casserole dish, with fresh fruit( pineapple, orange, apple, strawberries) and veggies(celery, onion, peppers mushrooms); you could use also fruit cocktail. Then I poured coconut milk over placed in the oven 350 until celery was tender but crunchy. You can serve this with rice - I had to eat many greens at that time.

i am fond of cooking and keep on trying my hand on new recipies and also try to create new recipies which are new for me as i havent heard of them from anyone or not read anywhere. It may be that in some part of the world someone had tried it before but if i have not read or heard of it then its my invention for me..and i am absolutely happy for it.... Like this burger which is healthy too.. I mix boiled mashed potato along with garbanzo beans boiled and mashed, some salt, chilli flakes, and some green coriander chopped and some fresh parsley, make its patties and just roast them on pan with a drop of oil..I use brown bread for the base..put some tomato sauce, some mustard sauce, place cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes, the patties and a cheese slice and again a brown bread. and YESSS... i ma done with my healthy and yummy burger.... :) My family just loves ittt..

Hello trm and welcome to myLot. I love chili. The way you make yours sound good. I like more heat so I make mine with red beans ground meat, Ro*tel Tomato & Green Chilies and a can of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce. I also add chili powder since that is what gives it the chili taste. Some times I cook my own red beans and if I feel lazy I used canned. My daughter makes hers with canned chili beans and some chili seasoning mix. I like mine better as it tastes more like chili.
