I have to say...they did nice justice to the ending of a tv legend of 43 years. They wrote a really nice final episode for OLTL. Odd that Allison Perkins was narrating it, but still...it was nice, heartfelt and interesting. Glad they had Clint propose to Vicki. Starr shows up in LA at Markko and Langston's and then Todd has Cole sent there as her "body guard". Didn't say how they arranged for that since he was proclaimed to be dead and is an escaped convict. And it was nice that they mentioned Greg and Skylar in the prison break and how they stayed behind to help out. Figured Tomas would be found, and Todd arrested for murder of Victor, but I kept wondering why is Allison narrating it? She was talking to someone, but they didn't show who until the final 3 seconds of the show...it was VICTOR!!! She had him tied to a bed and gaged his mouth, but it was Victor...the Victor/Todd that used her and she got her revenge on him and she is Sam's bio mother....That is why Todd wasn't all that surprised when he opened the door and saw her! But then again...how'd she get out of jail and on one mentioned it at all back then! But anyway, did you all asay a nice good bye to the show? Sad it is going off the air, but at least they did it homage nicely than the way they ended AMC. I alos hear SoapNet was shutting down next year...no soaps, but 3 on other networks so I guess why keep it for the daily stuff...but I don't see wh y they don't pick up and start rerunning the oldies! I mean, show the OLTL, AMC and even GH ..start with the very first episode! Or pick some of the best storylines or major ones and air them! I'd love to see Dark Shadows, and Edge of Night. and the original other soaps. THey used to be black and white and only 30 minutes...and if they can't accomodate that now...start showing them from when they first went to an hour! Something! Ijust wish they weren't trashing day time tv. I am so sick of cooking, healthy, "everyone knows everything" shows. The Chew and now The Revolution..come on...are we done yet? GUess not. What is your daytime schedule going to be now?

I hadn't seen this discussion so I wrote about the finale in another one of yours as well. I liked mostly how they ended this. They thought they were going to the internet so I think they did a great job of producing a cliffhanger. My only complaint is that I'm not happy how they ended Jessica's storyline. And I would have liked to have seen Marty come back with Patrick, although I didn't want it to be a one time appearance. I would have liked them to come back in the last month or so so it wouldn't seem to rushed. But they did a good job. It's just a shame we won't see what happened with Victor.

Yeah, it was kind of like they had the "old folks" not show up...and "new life" start with the young ones when they had Todd fix it so Cole could be with Starr and the four of them be in LA together. Langston and Markko. I missed Asa. I know they showed his picture at the mansion, but still...not a word to him or about him when the final Buchannan was born in his home!

YEARS ago...Bo was with a gal named Becky who was a country singer when Bo was a tv producer, just after he was a radio producer, and afterwards he was a Police Commissioner! Anyway, he and Becky had a thing, I don't think they were married, as she left him and I dont' remember the specifics but she came back and was pregnant and married Asa just before the baby was born so the baby would have a name. Don't remember why she didn't marry Bo. Anyway, Drew was Bo's son and then she and Drew left the show and Drew came back (soap opera) years later and was a police officer and killed in the line of duty.

hi coffeebreak, I have never been an OLTL fan...All my life I have just watched one soap opera and that was All My Children. SO since it has gone off the air I have no other interest in getting attached to any other soap, even tho I am at home all the time...But I refused to let another soap opera take an hour of my time everyday...So I do underdstand your loss its the way the ball bounces... I have had it with cooking shows as well....

I started General Hospital in 1968 with my mom....One LIfe to Live in 1970 when it was on the radio and Edge of Night when it was on the radio and it was on from 3:30-4:0 and I'd get home from school about 3:45 and run in for the last 5 or so minutes of the show! Then in 1971 AMC premiered and I watched it (when I was home from school sick!) and in the summer time. Edge of Night went off years ago...but Joe Martin of AMC played the father figure on Edge of NIght. But yeah, holding 3 hours of time for them...often got to me but still, back then they were really good! When I worked, I missed them, and then VHS came to be and I'd record them, but then realized I had 3 hours of tv to watch after the kids went to bed and I just couldn't do that. But now...GH is the only one on and I hear it is being moved in time slot this fall, unless it to is cancelled. I also in about 1971 picked up on Young and the Restless and watched that same as others. But it is on at 11:30 - 12:00. THey are still holding strong and I picked up watching that about 10 years ago. But no, I will not pick up any other show to compensate for the 2 being cancelled ANd I hate the food shows...they have just gone over board on them...guess that is the "thing" these days. But I won't be watching them! I have been nicely surprised at how much "extra" time I have during the day and what I can do during that time! I don't miss AMC as I was so sick of those storylines and Erica that I stopped about 2 years ago, and OLTL and GH..I miss a day or two a week and it hasn't phased me! I guess the only thing I will "miss" about them is that they were kind of like a family to me...friends etc. I enjoyed seeing what was going to happen tomorrow and something to look forward to out of my own life that was so often a mess. An hour of "me" time nad not having to deal with "real" life! Nice break in the day.
